It's not pathetic at all. I'm sure similar things have happened to all of us.
Hm...no
On another note: Why characters in anime rarely act according to their age? The kid from Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket behaves like a 5 year-old even though he is supposed to be 11. The tag on AniDB is just too fitting: "painfully naive kid".

That is the exact reason why I don't like Gundam 0080. Fucking kids.

Because reality doesn't sell.
Hm, but why didn't they make him 5 years old then? It's not like it would harm the story or the characters in any way. Same for other anime which suffer from the same problem. And it's not like one could identify oneself with those characters.

Same with Kidou Senshi Gundam: Dai 08 MS Shoutai though. Kiki(the red-haired girl) is supposed to be 17 years old, yet she does the usual thing. Well, being close to the main character and looking after him is what I would consider normal. But after a short amount of time, she shouts and acts pretty immature because he doesn't notice that she is in love with him. What's the point? She could just tell him or ignore it that he has no time to pay attention to her(they are constantly on missions, after all - lack of concentration could easily kill him).

I dunno, Alfred annoyed me TONS more than Kiki did. Plus, Alfred was like the main character, while Kiki wasn't. Anyway, I don't think Kiki was really acting out of character for a teenage girl in puberty. But I agree that Alfred was acting like he was 5 years old or something.
Probably gonna run through the stupid horror novels probably Friday night, ~7pm. I'll make a better post later giving a background (or what little of it there is) of Hisame and 1999XE. Siiiigh lol.
