I mean Toad just told you he jumped in literally halfway through the story and had no problems but *shrug*

You can claim things didn't happen (like them mentioning Solomon which they did in the 1st 5 min of episode 1) or you have the attention span of a pillock and can't absorb information properly and assumes everything you don't know from outset is some vital information from a previous point in the story.

I know this isn't anime but I started watching She-Ra on netflix. Seems decent. They didn't have 3rd season of volleyball boys so got a bit bummed.

Speaking of Monogatari, I'm real behind. I think I lost some of my passion for it as Hitagi got less and less screen time.

All the girls are good. There are no dull moments with the exception of one or two arcs and even then, it's still decently comfy viewing. Have you not seen Owarimonogatari S2? If not... you are missing out.

i really liked the ending of owari monogatari. Had a lot of impact seeing it visually and all and I'm a big fan of how Ougi's VA does her so that was super great for me

I dunno. If I end up giving Bake an honest watch and like it, then there's a lot more monogatari that I can watch and I'm a bigfan of second, third etc... seasons. Also, it's recommended by Toad. I don't think he's ever steered me wrong since I started posting here!

Nise gets way too much shit just because they amped up the fetishes and sexualization, which makes it harder for those people who claim that they watch it because of the dialogue while in reality only being in it for waifu.
In reality Nise was, at the very least visually speaking and especially animation-wise an insane upgrade to Bakemonogatari. The tension from dialogue is still there it's just in different nature and there's nothing wrong with having that for one vol of the series.
I'd take Nisemonogatari over Nekomonogatari any day.

Now 2nd season is obviously another big upgrade since you really dive into the stories so much more compared to anything first-season, or at least it felt that way for me, because there's no need to introduce the main cast characters anymore and stuff is just normal at that point.

3rd season was somewhat hit or miss for me at times.

I had to drop Babylonia. Wasn't my cup of tea. Looked good at the start, the fan service was appreciated, but the MC is just useless. It's all Mash. Night and UBW had better protags/MCs

Its definitely an odd choice for the producers to let the MC only have Mash as his servant, instead of being able to summon a number of different servants to his side to fight like in the game.

It's not even just having one summon. You take her away and the MC can't do anything. I don't understand what he's there for besides being the summoner. And it's not like he's even needed for that since Mash had the servant inside of her already.

I guess I just expected more from the MC after watching the prequel

His power is really mostly just having the abnormal ability to contract with many servants at once. Outside of that he is pretty much just a normal guy who isn't propped up by plot like Shirou for example or being a fully combat trained merc like Kiri. He is kinda like Waver in Zero but without the formal mage training.

He is basically the last choice Chaldea would want in his position, they just don't have a choice cause he is the only one left.

Kinda the weakness of a gacha game MC where the focus is more on the servants. The anime is using more of the better dialogue choices you can have for them but yea in combat the master is purely support who gives out orders.
