Plz, Meiya is fine, but its all about the fully animated Sumika..... But I'm losing my mind right now! MLA is one of my favorite things, and they announced an anime and a sequel at the same time!

Hello World was available on the local theaters so i gave it a try (wasnt personally that hyped of it but i was curious given it some sort of film similar to Kimi No Na Wa) and the trailer definitely did not deliver(or it has intentionally trying to hide content?) considering that the film ended up waaaaaaaay more complicated than some orange plot romance the trailer marketed. The film however was pretty damn good(it was like Dr. Strange and definitely better for cinema viewing for animation reasons) i'd give it 9/10 easily for the amount of suprising depth it had and would highly recommend.
Guess im back to watching anime regularly (Kimetsu surprises me personally why i gave some of the new ones a whirl)
I hadnt had this much fun on SoL/harem/romcom/drama. Oresuki is like a combination of gamerz, oregairu, konosuba(for the leecherous protagonist factor). Quite meta, alot of drama(can be cringey at times), great female lead(the rest gain more meat in their character each episode) plus none of characters are nice and the humor is fine. Looking forward to the weekly updates. And yeah this anime is spicy but different spicy.
Cautious Hero has a similar humor with konosuba. I dig it.

Apparently, in my time of absence, a new GitS:SAC series was announced by netflix. o.O Same director as well. I was so hyped. Then I saw the teaser. Why do they have to be so cruel?

You will take your full CG and you will like it.

Well even for full CGI they didn't even try to make it look half decent... I mean look at the Major. She is too much of a woman for anyone to handle, as Numy would say, yet they made her look like a little girl. What a farce.

Whoa just saw that trailer. Yikes.

Netflix anime is a tragedy. Could have been so much. Instead it's an abomination of terrible CGI shows people somehow say look ok.
|
No clue what else is being shown on it but Violet Evergarden was good and so was the Castlevania anime. Though these have no relation to the point of full CG shows.

Devilman was well animated but Yuasa was behind it all...
But honestly, I can't understand why they went this route with a franchise like this. For years now it seems they only add complete failures to the franchise and with each one it gets worse. As if the movie wasn't bad enough already. Feels like they are so out of touch it reaches Blizzard-level.

It's unfortunate. GitS deserves so much better but it just doesn't have the talent or driven people behind it anymore.
In general companies are so focused on chasing some wider audience that they forget to make products that are good enough for people to care about. Well anime fandom is pretty fucked up. You still see people saying how awesome Knights of Sidonia looks. Eish, I'm going to go onto a rant about anime fandom. Let's just leave it at GitS is dead, hasn't been alive since SAC finished.

Little Witch Academia and Carol & Tuesday were also decent, though Netflix seemed to be more of an exclusive streaming distributor for those, like what they did for Violet Evergarden.

Finished watching Spice and Wolf the other day. Holo best girl! Been a while since I've seen such a witty female MC who can also be charming at times. The way Lawrence also slowly grew over the series to get less flustered at every turn was great. I think if there was one complaint, it would be: + Show Spoiler +it felt like some things replayed themselves. Like, something gets resolved and the two MCs get closer, but something else happens later and it feels like they regressed a bit since the first event (or completely forgot about how they got closer) etc... I didn't really mind it much though.
Also, I highly doubt we'll get more, but is there any chance, even a slim one of another season? It's been over a decade I believe since the last season haha, but I'm not interested in trying to read the source to see how things end.

Cautious Hero is also good. The comedy gags might get a bit boring after a while, but there's enough stuff that will get you interested in the world and progress. Not to mention the interaction between our MC and everyone else can be pure gold at times (+ Show Spoiler [episode 1-3 spoilers] +using holy water on everyone in episode 3 incase they are undead was hilarious, same goes for how he keeps going overboard after he kills something like the slime in episode 1 lol )

It's basically a school anime, but the difference is it's a human in a demon school. You have the usual personalities show up and interact etc... I'm personally still enjoying it. It's not a must watch per se, but it's a fun relaxing anime where you know that there's little conflict and the MC will or should always come out on top somehow.

Most new shows for the season are on their 4th or 5th episode so heres my quick opinions on them:
+ Show Spoiler +Ascedence of a Bookworm: Suprisingly good. Isekei done right. None of the stupid gameworld business where people have levels, but the culture of society is a caricature of medieval society as if levels don't exist. It's just someone with memories of Earth living life the best she can. Kind of silly how she gives up one method of making a book after one attempt, but I guess if she doesn't she'll be forever making clay tablets. Must watch.
Assasins Pride: Watched only the first because going from monologing about his "assasins pride" to swearing fealty to "my little lady" made me laugh about how quickly the main character changed personalities.
Azur lane: An exercise in contrived situations where both sides decide to retreat with no casualties. In the open sea and sky, both sides withdrawing without harm or harrass is unheard of. It's as if nobody seems to realise they are in a war except for 2 of the Japan ship characters.
Cautious Hero: Jokes are unrefined and overdrawn but still funny. The spurned male hero cheering the hero under torture for destroying the undead army instead of cursing him was a nice touch
Choujin Koukousei-tachi wa Isekai demo Yoyuu de Ikinuku you desu!: Seems to be an interesting concept for an Isekai, but boringly executed. Didn't watch beyond the first episode, as sitting through the utter boredom of 5 minutes character introduction of "the world greatest xyz" is not exactly good first impression. Also that feeding scene. I suppose degenerates would enjoy that one.
Fate grand order:Babylonia: Beautifully animated, but the worship and subservience of Gilgamesh by every character is a bit much. Ok, we get it he's the king and everyone thinks he's the greatest. Also it would had been nice if someone tells us who Enkidu is. What is he supposed to be? A human? A god? A heroic spirit? I don't know, the anime just assumes we know this character from somewhere.
Oresuki: Seems interesting. Seems to be an anime where delight is taken in making the main character's life as complicated with as much drama as possible. Don't understand why he wants to make up with his friends but I guess you can't have drama without relationships. Also I don't get why people were decorating his shoes with sequins and desk with a gold course but whatever. Must be missing some cultural context. Bench is best character. Recommended for unheard of levels of drama.
Sword Art Online 4: Think I'll drop this one. Apparently one of the greatest philosophical and religious questions of life is answered, that of the existence of a soul, but no-one cares apparently. Spent every episode thinking how stupid and nonsensical everything is, or how wonderfully coincidental everything is.
Watashi, Nouryoku wa Heikinchi de tte Itta yo ne!: Yet another bogstandard Isekai, but seemed aimed at the K-On market. A comedy that isn't funny.

Could always invest in VR and get the Spice and Wolf VR game. Headpat Holo in VR. That's the most we'll get outside of LNs.
|
You could always go to a Zoo or buy a dog or something, too

Even in future episodes, they aren't providing timelines so you'll have a week pass per se, but you'd only think something happened the previous day or so. Likewise, more information on the MC's background would've helped us understand this current situation, however, if you think about the change and consider what was taking place at the time, you'd realize that there was a reason for it too. If I recall correctly, the MC even talks about how it depends on how well she does because he may "have to kill her later on" or something.
There's more information regarding his background in the next couple of episodes and there's likely a lot more to come, but basically, while the personality change seems odd, it doesn't when you consider everything that was happening. You should give the second episode a watch. Setting aside the pacing issues and not providing as much info at times, it's a pretty fun watch and there's some pretty good animation too. There's also interesting reveals and the world itself seems exciting if we only get more info on it!

Chances are really low I think although strange things happen sometimes. I think a lot of people are waiting for another season but realistically speaking it's not going to happen. Spice and Wolf is in the same boat as Baccano...

There was no reason to do a complete change in personality. The world from the first episode does look interesting like a chandalier. Maybe I'll give the second episode a go and see if it gets better
