I do have an issue with the latest Dr Stone arc where Senku committed to the entire arc based off a lucky guess from seemingly vague information. The arc itself was entertaining, but end goal seemed rather contrived.

I'm guessing the making of the sulfa drug, when he doesn't even know if it can cure the priestess in the first place? Either that or the making of cola.

Thing is, it's not like the viewers know about all the different types of antibiotics and coverage so just using a popular one is good enough. Can't see it being the cola bit.

He kinda admitted to doing it only off of a guess when he had to confirm by examining Ruri and doing the autopsy on the dead rat. I have some pharmacy and medical experience, so that part stuck out to me.

How did he have the opportunity to pick up surgery skills? Is there anything this guy does not know and cannot do?

He also can't craft well enough for most of his inventions. He uses his resources like a G and that's what gets him so far ahead. He literally revives everyone he needs to move civilization forward. He just knows a lot about different topics. Most of the time after this, he takes a supporting role to others who have the skills needed for the particular task at hand.

I heard that the rest of the story kinda sucks after this point, which is disappointing to hear. At least these first episodes formed a very solid arc.

I would've agreed with you when the show first aired, but nowadays, I just watch it to see how things proceed. No point in giving some of the stuff mentioned much consideration since the show, while is rampant with scientific concepts, has problems of its own with reality. It's one of the things that was discussed heavily when it started aired and which I agree with. If you want more info, you'll have to check out MAL since lots of folks already posted about it.

I expect Dr. Stone isn't meant to be taken that seriously. A Dr. Stone type anime that was 100% scientifically accurate but still as entertaining would be incredibly amazing though. Not sure why I even put a spoiler on this. I guess because what I am replying to has spoilers. + Show Spoiler + I guess to me it felt like that episode had no purpose *other* than to be bleak. Like, we already know how Askeladd and his crew act. We know they do this shit. But they spent an entire episode getting to know this family only to kill them. It just felt super unnecessary and like it brought nothing to the story, at least to me. At least not a full episode. It could have been a 5-minute portion of one episode, rather than taking up the whole episode.

I was wrong about how mostly everyone in the show is a horrible person. They're all jerks, and I'm transfixed to see what sharp angles they and the plot turn to. Is this juicy in a Domestic Kanojo or Kuzu no Honkai way ? Or like Toradora or Golden Time juicy ?
