You would have a point if the original mythology involved Arthur getting transformed into a woman to get pregnant and give birth to Mordred. But that didn't happen. The original story didn't involve any weird-ass fetish. Fate decided "hey, why not, some people are into that sort of thing, right?"

And also, my entire point is that stuff like FGO and Prisma Illya are garbage pandering trash. Just like the above. It wasn't always like that.

The point is they had already made Arthur a woman so they had to adjust the mythology. Originally People used magic to disguise their true nature to get laid (Arthurs father and Morgan when she seduced her brother). You can't have Morgan seduce her brother anymore because now she is a sister. It isn't a matter of catering to fetishes. If they were they would have actually described it and made it more of a focus instead of just mentioning it once. The original story was a sister fucking her brother lol. Two women conceiving a child through magical means of transforming one into a pseudo male temporarily isn't even that uncommon in various mythologies through time, they just adapted it because it solved a practical problem in the story and was a logical solution to creating an heir to the throne (despite it not working because of Morgan).

The only reason people really talk about it is because they like to meme about Merlin because he is the most OP servant in FGO and is kind of a troll. FGO really isn't "pandering trash". It has fan service servants because it is a game that needs to constantly give motivations to roll an ever increasing roster of servants but the story isn't really bad at all once you get past the 1st couple of shaky singularities.

No, in a setting where magic exists, doing it how they did it is catering to fetishes. There is literally no other way you can brush it off. They use "magic" to explain literally everything else about King Arthur being female, but not in this case, in order to have an heir, she also has to have a dick, no other way possible. Gotta awkwardly jam shit like that in there to please certain folks.

Who gets pleased by it exactly? No one really pays attention to it. Even if your into futas how does that cater to you at all. Seriously come on. You might have an argument if it wasn't just casually mentioned once quickly then never brought up again. And no nothing else is explained by "magic" she was born female as opposed to male. It was an arbitrary decision. It wasn't even explicitly stated she had a dick just that was was capable of producing sperm at one point.

I'm 4 episodes into NEET-anime and it's so weird to watch an asian take on people playing MMOs. Those characters are getting all hyped up and excited about p2w shit and RNG loot boxes you can buy with real money.

Just saw yuasa's adaption of morimi's Yoru wa mijikashi arukeyo Otome

+ Show Spoiler +
if you liked tatami galaxy, I think you'll like this a lot since it basically copies the character designs. In this one, yuasa decides to eschew any writing structure and decides to take you through a stream of consciousness style of one night in kyoto. Fantastic animation, great soundtrack. I think the goal of the film is to get you intoxicated with the beautiful animation and all the events that happen in quick succession and to just have a good time. I think it's a tad worse than yuasa's tatami galaxy tho. Mostly cause senpai is not that developed compared to watashi. Kouhai is great though.

Also if you're an original source guy like me, the movie is not like the original novel. Neither was tatami galaxy. It bums me out that I'm missing out on morimi's brilliance but I guess yuasa is okay too. More motivation to learn jp I guess

I would be too. Do you like never play any lootbox, p2w, or gacha games? You don't even have to pay. If you win the gacha and get good stuff, you'll feel really good too.

I have had this on my ptw for quite some time. Glad it's out now. Probably going to watch it in the next few days.

As for the MMO stuff: No. I have always stayed away from p2w MMOs as far as I could. My main game has always been GW1 and I still hold the opinion that it trumps every other MMO in almost every regard. I also hate loot boxes. Unfortunately almost every MMO has them - at least as normal drops... The RM shop ones are the worst though. It's also that everything that involves luck turns me off. I don't feel great when I win/get something nice because it doesn't feel like I have done anything to deserve it. On the other hand I feel terrible when I lose/get something bad and I know I couldn't have done anything about it.

Don't worry, I wouldn't sit through another one anyways. At least I gave it a shot and didn't punt it half way through.

GW1 is pretty dead yes. As long as you got a nice guild/alliance you can play though. There are also regular community events to revive dead areas every week. It's obviously a sad shadow of its former self but at least for me it sadly still better than any of the alternatives in the genre. I honestly don't know how many original GW players still play GW2. Everytime I play GW2 it the general chat and everyone I talked to didn't play the first game (which doesn't mean a lot but that's my experience). The two games don't really target the same kind of people, even if Arenanet pretends they do.

Dunno why you wasted your energy showing Neo a Yuasa or Satoshi Kon movie. He's got shit taste, nevermind him.

Has anyone else been watching march comes in like a lion? I have to say that it's probably one of my favorites, if not my favorite recent anime. The story has a lot of emotion and depth. Also the animation is quite beautiful to me. It's refreshing to see an anime go against conventional formats. For example, instead of just having characters say how they feel, fairly often they'll change and animate the background to help convey emotions.

Have watched the first season and just one episode of the second one. I think the show is a two sided coin. On one hand it has all the beautiful things you described. On the other hand it has silly, totally out of place humour that is not funny at all and destroy the mood they had set before. It's an anime I watch but I wouldn't dare to say it's one of my favourites, which is sad because I think it could be just that.

I get where you're coming from. I find the humor a bit much at times, but it's definitely needed. I mean the MC has a lot of issues that cause him to be immature at times. The anime is in quite a hard spot. Shogi is nothing like GO and quite complex. From what hear, even a lot of people in Japan don't know much about the game. If Shogi was much more widespread, focusing more on the game then the humor would benefit it quite well. Later on in the second season, the humor really does go away. As long as they kept the cats, I could do without the rest of the humor.

Later in the second season? The second season is only 7 episodes (of 22) in or so. Anyways, what I'm talking about is the type of humour. If they would use incorporated humour I probably would have no complains. It's the set up comedy that kills it for me. Like chibi stuff, the cat stuff, scenes with weird backgrounds and music. It feels like thrown on top. It's not part of the world. They want me to feel for the characters but they basically constantly breaking the fourth wall with the comedy. There are shows where this is completely fine and I like it but those aren't shows that want to be taken seriously. You can't have both, serious emotional stuff and this type of comedy. Why not have them do some jokes? Or have a funny situation that makes sense in the world? A lot of authors seem to struggle with that and take the easy route instead. It might work for some people but it doesn't work for me.

odd, i thought bones had an anime original series airing that season, but maybe they'll have 2 things airing at the same time?

It was absent fall as well, it'll have been 6 months from s2 ending and s3 beginning. I expected it to take 9 months like the gap between S1 and S2 though and also because bones already announced a show for spring.

But i suppose this won't be the first time bones has 2 shows airing at the same time, so it's not that unexpected. However this does makes me speculate that S3 might very well be 1-cour and not 2-cour.

Ya the humour breaks some serious moments imo. I think the show does overdo it by a bit.
