What? I always update at beginning, end and randomly throughout a season. I think it's a nice thing to do because it gives you an idea of where you're at etc...

lol this is like me irl. First thing I did after watching Violet Evergarden was to set it to watching  Luckily once you click + on the last episode, MAL sets as completed. Same for switching from ptw to watching.

eh, all i have to do is go to my mal bookmark link, and press + next to the ep i'm watching. no need to dl something for it.

Taiga does that automatically though, not to mention keeps track of torrents and files and allows for easy access to anything you've downloaded
It's just very convenient

Lol neo thinks I update religiously as if I spend any effort to open up taiga and press a + button.
Edit: @miragee uhh theres no point to argue about what users on MAL want to do. If they want to put it on their watching list, then the admins will accommodate their request. But because they designed it really badly, they have to change the airing status. My guess is that the original people who wrote the code for that probably don't maintain it and it's too costly for them to refactor and fix it.
