Sakura Quest was alright. This show will go one of two ways: either it will be a terrible drama because it's PA Works, or it'll be one of those rural town iyashikei. Alice to Zoroku was alright. Their lack of budget is pretty obvious. The plot seems fairly typical too. Its sole redeeming factor is that the MC is a sensible old man - that's pretty darn rare for a magical girl show. It's enough to keep me watching for now, at least. | ||

Boku no Academia: so far it's looking good. Wonder how far they plan to take it. + Show Spoiler [manga spoilers] + Hoping that we get to the fight between All might and all for one and it ends there, perfect place to end the season. Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism: fight scenes were good, nothing too crazy. Wonder how heavy they plan to go. Anime isn't really anything special, lots of cliche stuff though I don't personally mind it. Will keep watching for now. Renai Boukun: the 'wtf' anime of the season imo. One episode in and we already + Show Spoiler + have an angel x MC x crush/crazy girl x her sister who is into her. Getting a bit annoying that his crush keep stabbing him and well, them every time she gets mad. Wish they'll lay off a bit. Not really sure what to think otherwise. I can only presume we get a couple more people added into this umm love rectangle? harem? not even sure anymore! Rokudenashi Majustu Koushi to Akashic Records: + Show Spoiler + Teacher became into himself, lazy and lacking in many areas. Setting is interesting and art/animation is not too bad. Wish they took it easy on the usual stuff but meh. Will watch for now because I'm curious as to the MC's history and I think it'll get better. Seikaisuru Kado: CGI included! Not too bad actually, kinda blends in well. Story is interesting and pacing seems decent, has a lot of potential but I'm not holding my breath. Will continue to watch, likely will keep watching unless it goes south in the next couple of episodes. Tsuki ga Kirei: pretty cute school anime. CGI again, a bit more noticeable though and stands out at times. Will continue. PS looking at this list, maybe this is the worst season ever lol. There's still Aiz's anime left, Quan Zhi Gao Shou which seems interesting and Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho or Eromanga-sensei (lots of hype around both of them). Decided to not watch Saenai (don't want to watch that terrible Katou again) and never watched Bahamut first season so that's out too. | ||

It's an odd love rectangle trying to pass itself off as a comedy. Fwiw, I like Akane and she's the only reason I managed to get anywhere in the manga. zz + Show Spoiler [Akashic Records] + Glenn is a tragic MC, possibly the most, out of magic high school harem series. Not quite Kazami Yuuji levels of suffering but + Show Spoiler + He went into the military with an enthusiastic outlook of magic, partly because Serica took good care of him as an adopted son. But he ends up becoming the best hitman for the army and he slowly becomes disillusioned with what magic means. To top it off, his lover dies while saving him, so we get this lazy, jaded MC present day. | ||

Kobayashi ended on a good episode. Boruto was entertaining. Different from the manga in all regards as far as I can tell. + Show Spoiler + Boku no Hero should end after the tournament or at the beginning of the field trip. Not the last great fight in the manga. | ||

Yandere gotta yan, bro. Seems like it could go all kinds of questionable places. And that cat will haunt your soul. Kindof not thrilled with some of the licensing for this season. Meanwhile, between checking first episodes, About one fourth the way through Clannad Afterstory. + Show Spoiler + Lot of damn ghosts popping up. | ||

That's not at all a perfect place to end the season unless you wanna throw pacing out the window. It will almost certainly end at either + Show Spoiler + the end of the stain arc or more realistically at the end of term test arc. Considering the pacing of season 1 and the pacing of season 2's first episode those are the most reasonable places to end it. | ||

Bahamut s2 seems promising. That said, s1 also started strong, but couldn't keep it up once the plot started rolling. s2 being 2 cour worries me more than anything else. + Show Spoiler + Looks like their fight choreography is still on point (CG aside). It was one of their greatest strengths in s1. The dragon having googly-eyes and puffy hair was pretty amusing. It was a nice touch. | ||

Ahh so this is the show that Nasu says that shares the same themes as Nier Automata, Persona5 and that other game. So far, this is the only show who's ep1 didn't make me lower my expectations with how suffering and ugly Clockwork planet became and Sagrada reset starting from the 3rd volume instead of the first for no reason. + Show Spoiler + I enjoyed what I saw. How the girl with white hair fights is pretty cool as well. Overall, I find the art pretty and the animation is decent. The MC kind of looks like Inaho from aldnoah zero but he isn't a robot at least. Lol at the two story characters going back to his house at the end though. Cool music from Hiroyuki Sawano Also saw the first ep of Washio Sumi was yuusha de aru + Show Spoiler + basically almost exactly like the LN. They took out a lot of monologues and dead scenes where not much happens Monaca music is back but I don't feel like it's been used well so far compared to first season These fight scenes are so short. Overall, I feel like the episode tries too hard to get from point A to point B and that kind of sucks for me cause it basically reminds me of crossing things off on a to do list. Oh we got this scene in, alright we need to get this next scene in. There's also like barely any transitions between each scene. | ||
