The first arc was boring, but this one is incredibly lame.

+ Show Spoiler + Aren't they a bit too lovey dovey with each other and about the whole situation? I remember the ending of the series being a bit bitter when Madoka turned into a witch but her wish was to become a goddess (?) or something and she reseted the whole thing or moved them into a different time-line? If this is a sequel why is no attention, psychologic-wise, payed to that event and their relationships? Why is Madoka so friendly with that cat? I remember her hating it after she found out about the magical girl contract rules and the whole system. Furthermore, the teacher is talking about the world ending etc. Shouldn't that be more of a concern after everything they have experienced? The only answer I have right now is that they are suffering some sort of memory loss or are in a different time-line. If the connection is revealed later and I should just continue watching that's fine. If it's not a real sequel please tell me so I don't try to make connections to the show that only confuse me because I forgot so many details...

It is the correct thing and it is a sequel. despite what Unleashing said I liked it quite a bit. The original was better but that might as well be the best looking thing I've ever seen if nothing else. But I get where the controversy comes from and iirc urubutcher himself didn't appreciate it himself either, nor did he want it. But man did it look awesome. + Show Spoiler + That fight between homura and mami, and generally speaking the entire world getting more fucked up with every second homura comes closer to figuring out what's going on :3

Also didn't think there was still someone left that didn't know anything about the third madoka movie, madoka fans are as subtle as a jackhammer.

The art is certainly good and interesting, like in the series, but the best looking thing when the animation is actually about average for a movie so far? Including + Show Spoiler + Homura vs Mami. I mean the fight was nice and fluid but the choreography sucked imho. I'm good at dodging discussions about this stuff. And if I accidently run into one I will most likely forget about it before I watch the show/movie... I remembered that Mami died very early on though. I can't really remember how she was brought back. I'm about halfway through now, gonna watch the rest tomorrow.

The ending of the series basically had Madoka recreate the whole world with her special godhood so that's why everyone is alive. She just changed some of the rules around a bit as well. So the girls didn't spiral into complete despair but had lives. Sayaka became a witch and with her red head lover girl whose name I can't remember.

Sayaka became a witch and with her red head lover girl whose name I can't remember. not exactly... her wish was + Show Spoiler + basicly that she prevents people from becomming witches while they still get to carry out all that magical girl stuff, including all that dying part. Mami is alive because the labyrinth she lost her head in doesn't exist because the girls die before turning into witches, hence cake-girl-witch shouldn't be a thing that exists. (I'd assume, not sure about that one). Sayaka still dies and does not get brought back to life, Kyouko is alive because Sayaka dies but she doesn't turn into a witch. As a result that scene with Kyouko chasing after Sayaka trying to bring her back doesn't happen in the first place.
