Often? No, but it happens.
Gunbuster and Diebuster both did it with their respective endings, for example.
I should get around to watching them, downloaded them a while back but wasn't too fond of the first episode of either of them.
I cry at everything :<. Cry when Holo says she loves him. Cry when Senjou lays it bare for araragi. Cry when Elend and Vin get married. Cry like once per Malazan book.
Worst I think anime has hit me is still prob either Shinsekai when the red haired kid appeared or LoGH after Yang scene. I felt physically ill after that scene. Nowadays I just stay away from sad stuff...
Just open that cold heart!
Fuck I actually got spoiled on that Yang scene on 4chan (among others), it has slowed down my progression of LotGH pretty badly. Now I'm too afraid to visit the place especially since I want to go into Kimi no na wa blind.

I got all your book references. <3
Yeah I cry often too, especially when i am emotionally touched.

I had it as the moment between Blend and Picker but then I remembered like every Malazan book had gutwrenching moments. Deadhouse Gates stopped my reread . Tried skipping it and just reading next book but then you have the siege of that city by those crazy people and what happens to the mercenary lady. So just changed it lol. Read Words of radiance again. Cry like a little girl when at that Syl scene towards the end. The happy kind of tears :<
@Lackbleeder - Honestly I vaguely remembered what would happened and it doesn't really change the impact on the story. LoGH is very much a journey over destination story so much so that if they told you the outcomes of every character right at the start it wouldn't overtly impact the story too much.

Uhm, I cry very rarely when watching anime. I think I can count the anime on one hand:
- Clannad: After Story for 5 episodes straight... - LotGH + Show Spoiler +When Yang died for 2 episodes - Monster + Show Spoiler +When Grimmer died and Lunge visited his grave
I think that's it. I might miss something where I cried out of happyness but I don't remember that off the top of my head. Maybe in Hourour Musuko or Chihayafuru? Or Princess Mononoke? hm It's really hard to remember the times I cried out of happyness for some reason. I know I was extremly happy/emotionally moved but those tears don't come with such a pain that burns itself into my memory. What happens way more often though is that I feel emotionally hit in the guts, my whole body goes numb etc. Examples for this (additionally to the above mentioned) are Gunslinger Girl, Hunter x Hunter 2011 + Show Spoiler +When Gon lost his mind when he and Pitou went to Kite , Texhnolyze, Shinsekai yori, Kino no Tabi, Kemonozume

I still cry when I think about poor Nina.

I think I haven't cried a single time watching anime. O_o I haven't seen Clannad or LotGH (only read the available translateed books so far) or Monster though. Several moments had me feel really emotionally touched though.

I even cried when wathcing Naruto lol. I am a cry baby.

Clannad will get you at various points.

I used to cry a decent amount, but haven't recently. Some things that made me cry were:
Fruits Basket Kanon Major S1 Cross Game Grave of the Fireflies (yeah this fucked me up good for a while, my blanket was soaked)
And other stuff I don't remember. One Piece never made me cry but it often put me on the brink with super watery eyes.
Nowadays I avoid really sad stuff, hence I have yet to finish Clannad After Story. Don't got time to be emotionally whacked for days.

Yuri on Ice ep1... I guess I have rarely been as torn on a first ep as here. On one hand, everything serious, the whole scating part and the more natural character interactions (Yuri x Yoko) were cool and pretty much what I expected from this anime. On the other hand, every attempt at comedy was fucking terrible and destroyed everything. Sayo please, for fuck's sake, just throw your garbage comedy out of the window and gift us an AotS...

I'm hoping for a full season of blossoming girl love between Kumiko and Reina in Eupho

I've rarely cried watching anime; probably couple of times or so at best. I've had lots of other feelings though; like being sad about some of the character kills in Akame ga kill, getting mad at + Show Spoiler [Code Geass] +Code Geass' stunt in the first season , sad at + Show Spoiler + in Black Bullet, the + Show Spoiler +death of Mamaoru and Maria in Shinsekai and + Show Spoiler + in Sidonia season 1 amongst other things.
Kurumukuro: odd show. Started out great overall (mech wasn't too bad) then dipped down before spiking up again. I think the ending was pretty appropriate but they left some things unexplained. I can look past some of the dips, 8/10
edit: I've also never given out anything under a 6.

Started watching the Madoka ripoff Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku. The art is ridiculously cute + Show Spoiler [example pic] +, the plot is super dark/grim from what I've heard (hence madoka ripoff) and there's a literal shitton of voices trapped in there. Really there should be something in there for everyone.
And unlike Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru they know what to do with the males in the series: + Show Spoiler [pic, spoilerish] +because that: ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/PvN0BbE.jpg) is a guy
all jokes and kidding aside. It seems pretty watchable and I liked madoka so I'll see if this one can at least entertain me a little with that mix between moe/thriller even if the chances of it getting close to my entertainment for other examples of this genre-mix (madoka, Gakkou gurashi?) are close to 0 and could very well be that it's just going to suck really hard.
Also Hayamin + Show Spoiler +only magical girl who's listed as supporting char instead of main on MAL. I'll be surprised if she survives ep2

I remember crying a bit for LoGH
+ Show Spoiler [LoGH] +Not for Yang though. Yang's death came as more of a shock.
It was Reuenthal's death that got me. Many of the deaths in LoGH are tragic, but I think Reuenthal's death is unique because it was a waste of a man of his talent. His conflict didn't need to happen. Reuenthal knew full well that he was being used, but he went through with it anyways because that's just how he is. Heck, in the end, he was still loyal to Reinhard in his own way.
The scene where Mittermeyer mourns his friend is also one of the more powerful scenes in the show, I feel.
Started watching Slam Dunk. It's pretty decent. I guess this isn't surprising, considering I liked Rookies (which is never getting adapted), and the two are really similar.

I've never fully cried for any fiction, but in anime specifically, one or two sections of One Piece made me teary-eyed ;_;.

I won't deny this anime probably is being derived from Madoka, its just amusing because Madoka itself was a ripoff of Kamen Rider Ryuki.

I think I upped it's rating by 2 whole points (!) because of the last 2 episodes in the end. Show was complete garbage but the last 2 episodes kinda made me think this could be upgraded to "below average" had all other episodes been like that
and to be fair, that trailer looks a lot better than anything else they've done in the series
