Ikr, it's not even like madoka is the first dark mahou shoujo. Ikusei keikaku is more battle royale with magical girls. A very different approach compared to the way madoka did it.

Which could be a good thing, as long as it doesn't also copy Mai Hime's ending.

people compare it to things they have seen. Madoka is probably just the most popular one so the one that shows up the most

One of the first anime I watched (only really started watching last year) was Grave of the Fireflies.
Nothing will ever make me as sad as that movie and it didn't make me cry.
I have a lot of strong emotional reactions to media but I express sadness in other ways.

Hibike Euphonium S2E1+ Show Spoiler +Pleasantly surprised with a 45 minute episode!!! I love the way this show looks, especially the reflection of light off everyone's eyes. And that Oboe render was gorgeous.
Does anyone think Asuka senpai was too unforgiving? Granted I'm not sure if we know how badly she got fucked over when the 2nd years bounced, but the girl seemed to really want to re-commit with Asuka-senpai's blessing. I don't think she would be so persistent if she wasn't serious.

Nanbaka seems annoying.
Brave Witches was alright. Pretty much what I expected.

Those without dedication just earn her ire.
I still think it's funny that even Eupho can't sell an orchestral op to the execs.
Fuck Shuuichi.

Oh? But shouldn't the porn industry be quite large and have a lot of viewers/customers (aka money) to warrant good animation? I don't understand.
Btw. was Phantom World well animated? Wasn't that the show that even had trashy animation and fails in the trailer?

Nah, ecchi and especially hentai generally looks like dogshit(Obviously exceptions exist, but yeah and even then most of those exceptions are just ecchi, not hentai).
And phantom world was typical kyoani quality, it was well animated.

I guess it makes sense. For the creators that is. It's easy to make and they can even safe money by not spending as much for animation quality but people will still watch their shit either way.

On that note, i didn't realize monster musume BDs were fully subbed. Time for some monster oppai

lol
On another note, I started watching NieA Under 7. It's ok'ish so far. Most of the jokes are rather meh but I still enjoy it. Some jokes really crack me up though. For example + Show Spoiler +in ep1, when Nie started her UFO and broke through the roof. Then that new girl jumped onto the UFO asking how it's powered. "A secret. Let's go." Turned out the UFO was powered by electricity from an outlet, LOL. So smart. Nie is kind of like a less terrible version of Umaru. Still terrible though. The OP sounds like it's sung by someone who did tons of cigarettes and whiskey everyday for 60 years straight, lol. ED is pretty good and up-beat.

Fuck Shuuichi.
I'm only through ep9 of season 1 for Eupho, but still... why would a show about a concert band have an orchestral op?
I'm still trying to figure out why a stringed contrabass is in the band; I haven't ever seen a stringed instrument in a concert band in my experience so far. Except for in Eupho. That's what the low brass is for, alongside the low woodwinds like the bassoons and contrabassoons. (To say nothing of the tubas, euphos, and double F horns.)

By concert band you mean a brass band?

No, I mean concert band. Thus the noted woodwinds, which are not brass. Although it's possible there's some slippage in definitions, as the phrase brass band causes me to think more of drum and bugle corps which are solely percussion and brass instruments.
I have not seen, in my admittedly limited experience throughout school while playing and competing in a number of settings, a concert band that included stringed instruments, with the possible exception of a piano from time to time. Strings were the norm in orchestra.

K, I don't really know the exact meaning for concert band in english. Looking up wiki it says: "A concert band [...] is a performing ensemble consisting of members of the woodwind, brass, and percussion families of instruments, along with the double bass." That said, I don't really have much experience with these kind of esembles. I know one where some friends of mine play and they only have wind instruments and percussions.

1) Pretend it never happened and just not follow up on it (but it was't thaaaat bad for them to do that) 2) make and OVA with half naked girls (I'm assuming it's something like in Hyperdimension Neptunia with the R-18 island and they're not actually naked) to get some sales after all
and say what you want, KyoAni has nice animation so while I did hate on the show quite a lot when it aired I'm not going to complain about good looking girls with animation quality from KyoAni. It's like they figured out the only thing they're good at and sticking to that
inb4 it's a 3 second scene and the rest of the episode is just like the other episodes of the series

I think it's possible a double bass could be included; it's just that all the ones I've been in or seen only go with wind, brass, and percussion. It may not be common to see a double bass just because, at least in the U.S., it's not common for string instruments in general to be utilized in education and a double bass is pretty rare even among strings. Thinking about it, stringed instruments in general seem more common in Asian education - and of the schools I've been through and the ones around it, a school was unlikely to own its own string instruments (although my HS did have a standing bass for the Jazz band) while it was more common for there to be the more expensive brass instruments and larger woodwinds. (This is the only way that two flute players, myself and my neighbor of 5 years, wound up still sitting next to each other while playing the horn and bassoon in our last three years of high school.)
Only woodwind and percussion would make me think of a wind ensemble.
I think it may be down to budgets and school funding in the long run - not a lot of parents want to pay the high prices for some instruments when many people are starting in our educational system. (Those that still have a music program, at least.)

Not sure if I like how Bungou Stray Dogs S2 started. + Show Spoiler +I mean, Dazai is a pretty fun character, but I don't really like flashbacks to the past... I hope it's not too long. It was getting really interesting in the end of S1, so I wanna see what happens next.
