it was ok but i dropped it the moment they added some fantasy element on the show it just killed it for me
it's probably cause i never expected it to have any fantasy element so it's kinda disappointed when i learned it did have one

Interesting that you chose that Nero bride over the new GSC one I got.

@Miragee I can't speak much for sports anime but I'm finding Haikyuu to be pretty enjoyable. Story seems like its the typical type from the few I've seen but the cast is great and that's a big plus imo. Animation and everything else is also well done and the OP for the second season is quite catchy lol.
@Numy Arslan isn't too bad though I dislike the color palette that they elected to use. OP and ED are great to listen to. Story is ok but I do like the cast and their chemistry. Only concern for me was that the pacing was really slow at times and felt like it barely moved for episodes on end. Given, I think overall, the good outweighs the bad and it's worth a shot since you can always drop it if you dislike it.

You should reread my replies again
I compared it to lord of the rings because you were being an idiot who couldn't understand that i prefer to watch a show with a setting/theme of medieval/swords&&shield more than lazer/space battles/futuristic themes.
Not because it's like lord of the rings with all the magic and shit ROFL.

So you prefer fantasy settings, but when they get fantasy elements in them, it just kills it for you. Got it.
|
That's not fair Sent. he's obviously saying he likes medieval period pieces

Alright i'll explain/clear-up this one last time for you since you are just being defensive, misleading what i say and just putting words into my mouth. I'm gonna try to be explain this to you again as simple as possible. Jeez it's like i'm talking to a kid or you are just doing this to annoy me at this point.
I wanna watch "swords and shields" not "lazers and spaceships" , hence i compared to it watching "LOTR" and "starwars". Get it ? It's like miragee preferring "zero fanservice" over anime with "ecchi fanservice". It's like as i prefer color "blue" than color "red".
And if i wanna watch a something with a medieval theme with fantasy i wouldn't watch Arslan i'd be watching Akatsuki no Yona. When i watched Arslan i expected it to be a straight up medieval style without the magic&mystical elements. So when they introduced the fantasy elements it was a deal breaker.
That means it doesn't necessarily mean that my example was LOTR means that i also wanted the fantasy element of LOTR. NO it's just you who couldn't understand that i just wanted to watching something with a medieval settings not futuristic one. But why am i even explaining this to you said at one point that "setting/theme don't matter" so i might as well watch My Little Pony or Barny the Purple fucking dinosaur
|
Episode 2, or maybe 3, had the use of magic that was so significant that it entirely shaped how the entire plot would unfold. And to quote you from that time, "so fucking good". And then, somehow, fantasy magic a dozen episodes into it that doesn't really affect anything kills it, dropped, etc. Yeah, makes total sense.

LOTR and Star Wars both have swords/shields/magic though...
|
I doubt he has even watched Star Wars, considering its practically "science fantasy"
|
Arslan was incredibly low fantasy, and comparing it to yona doesn't quite make sense since in yona the fantasy was one of the key aspects of the setting and story and even to some degree the characters.
|
Eh, i don't wanna spell out everything for you sent cause i already made so much effort and besides that i pretty much laid out my point. You just wanna bait and flame at this point cause there's no way you still couldn't understand after all the explaining i did anyways
I literally just want medieval setting not futuristic theme.
I didn't know that arslan had fantasy when i started watching it, if i did i wouldn't have that kind of expectation.
Yeah sure cause the appeal of starwars and LOTR are the same just because they have both sword fights and that's not even my point.

did magic even play a significant role in arslan? + Show Spoiler +I only remember the fog in the early battle and the masked dude being saved at the end

Outside of one, maybe two instances, all the magic amounted to was a 'get out of jail free' card for the villains.
But hey, huge major use of magic in the first couple of episodes? So good, can't get enough! Minor, sporadic use of magic a dozen episodes in? DROPPED.

"Setting/themes don't matter." Yeah there's no difference between gundam and oreimo.
|
Goody, are you suggesting that settings and themes are the same thing? Maybe you are tried of getting called out on Fantasy stuff, and would rather get called out on this instead?
|
No, i just included both to make sure, i mean it's already hard for you to understand that people can like other things that you don't anyways

this argument is pretty funny and sad lol. Who the hell cares who likes what? I think I understand what goody is saying in his post though but I'll leave it at that ^^

To make sure of what? You aren't even making sense anymore.
