Arslan was... hmm, i enjoyed it overall but it had some parts that dragged on and had some things that could've been better. It also had a lot of QUALITY. I'd say wait for the BDs to fix QUALITY if you decide to give it a try. I ended up rating it 7/10(probably closer to 6.5 though, but MAL doesn't allow scores like that) because i liked the setting and some of the characters a lot. Also speaking of nyaruko, i current have the option of buying a nyaruko maid nendo Really considering making this my christmas present for myself On November 27 2015 04:06 Toadesstern wrote: also best VA Kana Asumi is so good

Avoid it, it was rather slow and IMO not worth it. Lots of people dropped it here while it was airing, including me, though I decided to finish it in the end...

I always liked Blanc's voice the most without knowing it's her lol. That explains a lot. Now if only you could get Noire looks coupled with Blanc voice

Animation studio SHAFT will unveil a short concept movie for a new story related to Puella Magi Madoka Magica for its "~Commemorating 40 Years of Shaft~ Madogatari" event in Tokyo on Friday. The movie hints at a new project for the franchise, but nothing has been officially announced. Magica Quartet—the team behind the Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime, consisting of director Akiyuki Simbo, character designer Ume Aoki, scriptwriter Gen Urobuchi (Nitroplus), and animation studio Shaft—have continued plans for a new work since the Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion film opened in October 2013. The concept movie was born from their meetings. www.animenewsnetwork.com

I enjoyed it (for the historical / military themes) and will most likely watch a season 2 but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it to others.

Kind of wonder if it's a bad adaption or if original just isn't that great. Hiromu Arakawa is pretty amazing managaka but this was her adapting the novels so idk how good of a manga it was.

I probably rate Karen higher than most do among the Monogatari girls. Saber just shits on them in direct comparisons, ahoge aside (and Saber's is pretty good, it even unlocks her dark side if you pull it out) .

There are other ahoge out there worth exploring though. I'm sure Sent knows a whole host of them that are better.

Tsukihi obv better of the two sisters. Arslan had good potential but went off the rails when super natural elements started getting added.

Got the weird oddly close special first year pair, the older serious but nice captain who puts in his all to still be relevant, the old ace who gets powered up by the new special oddly close pair and the cute manager who surprises the team every now and then with inspiration. Oh also the rival school from a different prefecture that they practice with at the start and use as their "dream" to beat each other at nationals. If you like this kind of thing than Haikyuu is for you. Characters are all decent enough and animation/sound is good. Story is pretty run of the mill as always. Manager is hotter than Kuroko's but not as big a character so don't know if that's a plus. It doesn't quite have the burning passion that Symphogear has or the slightly lesser heat of Kuroko though. I'd label it under "trashy pandering show that's fun" if that helps. There are worse ways to spend your time but it won't be something you remember years later. Now Cross Game on the other hand is far more special. If you want a sports anime that isn't your usual shounen cut and paste then check that out. I'm not much of a sports anime man so there may be other older ones that are just as good. Miragee if you want more indepth I can do it after I'm done I guess. It's not something that warrants that level of effort or thought though lol Nah, this is already more than I expected, thanks!^^ It was just general curiosity because people hype that show, especially s2, through the roof. S2 is ranked 15 on MAL (I know, you might want to take this as an indicator that it's a mediocre show but once in a while there are exceptions). Since you recommended me some of my (now) favourite shows I thought I would just ask you what you think about it it, when you mentioned it. I think I'll give it a pass then. On the other hand, I will keep an eye on Cross Game though. I'm not really into sports anime. I watched a bit of Hajime no Ippo and it was ok but I put it on hold for other things I wanted to watch. The only other anime is Chihayafuru I think which I really enjoyed because of the characters and mood, especially the mood of the game. I only watched the first 10 episodes, so take this with a grain of salt: I gave it a 5/10 because it was really just about average in any aspect. It didn't do anything particularly bad but it also didn't do anything particularly well. It was also pretty plain and boring. Imagine LotGH pacing and story-telling techniques in a medieval setting without any decent characters, let alone great ones like in LotGH, that can handle any interesting conversations and without two parties on the same level. Arslan is pretty much a one-way ownage by Narsus.
