So when it comes to individual books they are roughly equal if not smaller at times but the way Minoru Kawakami has written them is that the "arcs" are all under the same "book" so it seems so much bigger. The series is huge ye but it's not as if it's some huge outlier in length.
The complete Malazan series comes out to 11,147 pages.

So, after tokyo ghoul's ending episode, there's a literal shit storm of people raging about how it ended/how different it was from the manga and whatnot. I'm over here like....you all knew it was gonna be anime original from the beginning right? Everybody knew that. Everybody should also have known the mangaka came on as a supervisor and helped direct it into something different from the manga b/c he wanted to tell a different story. That's also been known. These kids are just going bat shit crazy over TG. It wasn't even that good all season long. Like seriously, interesting premise, but terrible terrible storytelling.

People just wanted an actual adaption so when that didn't happened they got vocally angry. It's understandable but at the same time they should have known it was going to go that way already.

I think that's what you guys were talking about with the hairband thing...that they actually killed the girl who sank earlier in the season without realizing it was her (b/c she was changed or w/e into an enemy). Was she the final carrier that fubuki destroyed then?

The potential for boats to have a really interesting and engaging story is definitely there for season 2. But Im definitely not holding my breath.
Just gonna leave my expectations where they always were and hope for more Yamato and bath scenes.

I don't think it was mentioned which one she was and there's no game info about it either. Could be, could be she was just some random ship.

I gotta say, I was not gonna watch boats at all. Then i was like, what the hell i'll give it a shot since everybody around here likes it. Now i'm like...god damn that's one of the best of the season. Every episode just got better and better.
