Also catching up with Shirobako, Aoi is cute as hell. I have started 5-6 different VNs and never finished any of them. This happens to be one of them. Was it good?

"I know nothing of White Album, but I do know that Tonight is a professional troll, who actively seeks out opinions and view points that are both objectively wrong and will make other people mad, and then sticks to them constantly in an attempt to weaken his prey's psyche, before he pounces on them and feasts on their flesh. This must mean that Kaal has the correct opinion in this sitaution." - Sent

How different is the Horimiya manga from the anime. Because the manga feels very similar to Nozaki in how hilarious it was. Edit: nvm, it apparently isn't really out yet.

cross ange 16 + Show Spoiler +Did they run out of money or something? animation quality definitely went down and they spend 10 min or so playing wii sports
edit:the whole singing for special powers reminds me a bit of guilty crown inori, except with better story and worse singing.

So I just watched the first episode of The Tatami Galaxy.
Somewhat ironically, I think this is what being in love feels like.

Anyone following Fate/Kaleid manga? + Show Spoiler +So...Alt-world Sakura shows up with F/Z-Berzerker card and she's batshit insane, and Gilgamesh is back at 100%. If the anime ever reaches 3rei they'd better have a serious animation budget.

On January 26 2015 09:01 Sentenal wrote: So if you don't ever watch anything to compare it to, how can you call it ambitious? Give me something you have watched to compare with. Because it seems to me that Aldnoah Zero has gone from you calling it "ambitious" to just being "fun", which is the most subjective thing you could possibly say about it. Relative to all other animes. And I used SnK in that initial statement to clarify that I meant more "ambitious" concepts in general anime instead of the same re-hashed tropes. Just because better stuff may have been done, doesn't automatically make Aldnoah terrible -- upon viewing the first episode, I said, "this is a straight rip of Code Geass and that is virtually Space Britannia."
Again, I haven't seen the other two you mentioned. Though I only got in to anime in my 20s, compared to your average Western "casual" I think I'm fairly versed in what's available, and I haven't heard of them. If I'm representing your typical Western viewer who's not an anime aficionado, this is the material I have to size-up anime.
Thankfully it's not terribly dire; for any given taste there's a decent amount of recommendable follow-up series you can move on to from your first foray in to anime, but what I worry about is the forebodings from the industry that studios are still and always on the fence about moving back to the otaku-serving tropes and generic stuff.

On a lighter note, I'm really enjoying Shirobako. It's pretty heavy on the dialogue and... well, general text -- subs and all those names and titles demands a bit of a re-watch, but it's pretty interesting, so I don't mind. Fun look at one particular studio's project cycle, and a pretty good slice-of-life at that; I actually feel like I'm watching real adults. Imagine that.
