Two episodes in a row that managed to be completely and utterly boring and had little more animation than a powerpoint presentation.

I guess this is why anime studios stopped taking their time try to develop stories and just jam it in.

I haven't watched it but I heard the animation quality was pretty bad. I don't mind stories taking awhile to get moving but if the quality is bad that's rather off putting.

It's not about a lack of story, it's about nothing that interests me in the least. The characters are nothing special and their interactions haven't been fun either. The setting isn't really that unique or special. The animation is non-existant and frankly just really bad. I'd rather read the manga than watch the anime because it's probably be a far better visual experience. I don't mind stories with slow starts, as long as the characters or the setting atleast have some resemblance of entertainment/something to get you interested attached to them.

grisaia vn + Show Spoiler + did they just fit a large part of the prequel's story into like a 3 minute ending? havent read the 2nd or 3rd grisaia vn's but from what ive heard a large part of the 2nd vn is basically how each girl arrives at r-whatever academy.

If they just gush out about all the character and setting and background so you would find them special and unique, it wouldn't be a slow start would it? That's like saying "I don't mind non alcoholic beverage as long as I can still get drunk on it". Uh, what? A slow start to a story does not automatically mean having uninteresting characters and setting. You can easily have interesting characters and settings whilst also having a slow start to your story. The series is currently 2 episodes in and has done nothing to hook me as a viewer, the interaction between the characters has infact only been slightly annoying so far, did we really need 3 scenes in a row where Kuga beats up people because he doesn't understand the new world he's in? It was easily understood the first time that he was clearly not used to the way things worked in that world and things worked different where he was from, hell it was also quickly clear that things weren't quite the way the main character thought they were in regards to neighbors. If the animation then atleast was nice to look at then there would have been a reason to keep watching it over just picking up the manga, but it isn't. It has nothing to do with wanting them to "gush out about all the character and setting and background so you would find them special and unique" as much as it has to do with the anime so far just doing a really piss poor job at being remotely interesting, again having a slow start doesn't mean you can't do anything to interest/hook readers/viewers. Who knows if the manga is good, it might be, but the transition to anime definitely hasn't done it any justice so far. If you enjoy it, that's great, but to me it has just not been even remotely entertaining. Which has nothing to do with liking or disliking slow starts. Steins;gate(the anime) had an insanely slow start too but still managed to hook viewers, to give an example.

In the episode, it pretends to be all serious and dark? and unnecessarily gruesome. But the preview has Nana joking about the series =\. Only the OP (song), mecha designs, and next EP previews have been the best parts. Rest so far is cringe.
