The point is that while GGO is going on, Asuna will get no screen time. I don't see how you could interpret my post to be talking about what happens after GGO. If they do 2 cours, I wouldn't be surprised if they did the "Yuuki has AIDS" arc. But they wouldn't do any of that stuff till GGO is over.

No, because Kirito is in both of those ALO stories, and Sinon is in the Excalibur one (transfered to ALO), so its impossible to do them until after GGO finishes.

Except Asuna is getting screen time right now?
I am just assuming that they have a brain and know how to break some things up and ignore the relatively fuzzy timeline of a fair amount of event in that arc and stuff those inbetween early GGO episodes. Even they must realize how dumb it'd be to stuff 2 short stories in randomly after GGO. It is like a literal equivalent of watching S1 Haruhi chronologically.

Shes getting nothing meaningful, and shes got like 2 scenes in the past episode. 1 scene with her talking to Kirito on the phone, and one with spacing out in ALO prior to them getting ready to watch the cast. Suguha got more screentime in the past episode than Asuna did, lol. If you consider that much as "getting screentime", then I suppose we just have different standards.
And I wouldn't assume they have a brain at all, not with what they did with side stories in SAO, doing it all chronologically. You are giving them too much credit.

AFAIK there is enough material for a 2nd season. And in a world where SAO can get another season, I don't see why its superior couldn't.

Yeah there are at least enough content for 2 more season in AW, and the S1 sale was pretty good. They just haven't got around to it yet.
The anime covers first 4 vol with some extra stuff. Currently there are 16 vol out.
I'd take Horizon before AW though T.T (IIRC it's the same team)

Though if they do Horizon S3 1 cour again I'd probably break. As vol 3 more than doubles the length of vol 2.

I'd actually be impressed if they can get anything half coherent done for vol 3 in 1 cour...not that they managed for s2, or even s1.
