I think I mentioned this sometime ago but just take the german voice for Bruce Willis. That stuff is amazing and generally speaking "normal" dubs are usually really good because there's a market for this and people actually try to be good at it. 99% of the movies or films we get on TV/cinema in Germany are dubbed. I can only assume it's the same for french people and probably a bit mixed for smaller countries. That being said, I wouldn't be suprised if a german or french dub would be vastly superior to an english one but I never tried one. Obviously there's always these things you started watching in one language and just can't stand in another one just because you got used to it so much but that goes both ways. I can't stand Simpsons in english, I can't stand How I met your Mother in german, I can't stand DBZ in japanese. | ||

I think if there were more professional voice actors doing stuff in anime, dubs wouldn't be as objectionable. I'm of the opinion that I will always watch subs unless they don't exist, but I think people are fair in saying anime like Cowboy Bebop or FLCL are superior to their Japanese counterparts (though I would respectfully disagree). | ||

Like i tried DBZ and naruto in jap dub before and it never sits well on me. But i feel so comfortable watching both in our local language. However every other anime though i prefer to listen to japanese. There are also some anime where i prefer eng dubs over subs like Cowboy Bebop and Baccano but idk that maybe just because theme of the show is more american than japanese and it suites well with english dub more. Usually though like watching a American tv series or a Korean drama(with subs of course). I prefer the language it was originally broadcasted.
