Then she reverts and you are just back to being indifferent ;; I kind of wish they'd be able to get up to dragon bro but that's like 11 vols in so that won't be happening ;; On June 26 2014 19:16 IceHism wrote: Hmm this is my watchlist for my internet-less vacation Are these shows okay? Need to finish up Chihayafuru s1 Chihayafuru s2 Jormungand s1 + s2 Shiki Anohana Nisemonogatari Mawaru penguindrum If you are going to put up with Nise you might as well as grab the rest of the monogatari stuff, since that's pretty much the weakest one of all of the animated parts so far. I wouldn't suggest shiki unless you want something that's just your standard visual horror flick. Manga was decent I guess but anime felt kind of diluted down to me. I got a good laugh at that time but now, I just feel that the show just isn't my type of show. Same with k-on as well. I do like Nagato Yuki and Mio though :p The live drama had different strengths from the anime. If you really liked the source watching both should be a pretty good investment.

Omg How do you multi quote on this forum easily D: I'll probably be adding monster, black lagoon and usagi drop from your list and maybe kino's journey to my plan to watch list @goody153 I've actually already seen most of the things on your list lol. I just started hxh recently and I still need to watch FMA:b and monogatari s2 . I have Kara no kyoukai and 5cm per second on my plan to watch as well @znf Now this is a lot more interesting. I'll add texhnolyze and katanagatari. I already have ergo proxy on my plan to watch. Haven't examined your whole list yet but I will @eca Thanks for feedback. I'm pretty aware shiki will be a bit standard. Maybe I will give the nodame anime a try.

Started reading Gekkan shoujo, quite amusing. Not sure about it being full length instead of shorts though.

I think there are definitely plenty of cases where this is true, but I don't think it's as widespread as what I once thought it was. Not to mention that you might be able to enjoy reading something, but when you adapt that something into an anime or a TV show it can just suddenly be completely offputting. It's why I don't want to touch the Kino no Tabi LNs and I thought the Welcome to the NHK novel was really bad...and I feel like certain books I've read I feel like I'd be bored out of my mind watching a movie adaptation of them.

Well I agree to an extent. I've seen a lot of very good anime adaptations, though I generally prefer manga more. Though, I must say that manga adaptations of existing anime are by and large pretty trash. It's rare to find a good adaptation, let alone one that does better than the show.

Translation quality, just as far as readability is concerned as I can't vouch for the accuracy, ranges between questionable and bad. We need Uta doing more translations. I really liked the pilot one...I think I've said this like 8 times haha. Some of the official translations are good. I liked the Book Girl books from what I read. They were pretty amusing to read. And if that's the sole reason to watch Monster, might as well just watch random scenes on Youtube....wut? :D :D :D On June 27 2014 05:10 Requizen wrote: Well I agree to an extent. Could just be a general aversion to something that changes a few things from what you've seen and already liked.

Nah, I enjoy most adaptations, I look forward to a lot of my favorite manga becoming anime. But a lot of the time when an anime turns into a manga it's just a really shitty version.
