Ecchi is completely independent from stuff like the plot, or character interaction. It does when the creators put most of their effort into developing ecchi situations then into developing the plot or character interactions. So why are you blaming the ecchi, when if I understand you right, you should be blaming the creators? Like I mentioned before, Godannar is a show that has a very high amount of fanservice, in all meanings of the word, but it also has a decent plot and really good character development and interaction. The ecchi in that show didn't take away from anything there.
Well that is what I am talking about basically, I thought that was implied because I said I wasn't against it. Resentment against creators who do that to shows that have a premise or setting or something that is interesting and instead they just ecchi ecchi ecchi and ruin the potential.

That is quite possibly the nicest thing you've ever said to us, emnjay. :3

I will look into it. Apparently only 2 episodes?

Yep. Doesn't really have an ending, either.

The Koe de Oshigoto manga had a sorta ok premise and then it descended into shit. It's a wonder that it ever got 10 vols, because the whole idea was played out by vol 2-3.

Now if they only cut out the random service parts and put in the addition pieces of plot that they omitted, it would've been glorious.
Oh well maybe I should go reread, I'd hype tsurioto2 except Navel is trying to make money and denying mc voice until fandisk. Also Ou Jackson isn't writing main plot, so only hope is once again on characters. Siiiigh
Why can't they just be like t-m and release a game every decade. Jackson writes at Nasu speed anyway.

So i just finished Brynhildr in the Darkness episode 12 and I must say I'm surprised and disappointed at the same time. Basically it feels like they're trying to cop out the ending and rush about 5-7 episodes worth into this and the final 13th episode. Everythings just moving way way too fast for me to really enjoy it. Like they created 3 or 4 different storylines and tried to give the bulk of them within 10 minutes, then close them in the next episode (im assuming).
+ Show Spoiler +So like, they drop a bunch of new things Aliens created humans, Neko is actually super strong, the things inside the witches necks are like larvae that can hatch into human eaters, the thing inside Kotori is gonna kill all life on Earth, blah blah blah. Also, the dude dies and and Hatsuna is like "i can save him, but i'll melt" and absolutely nobody stopped to think..maybe that's not the greatest idea...Then the introduction of the Hexenjagd group was super fast, they're like "KILL ALL WITCHES!!!!" and 3 seconds later, "ok we won't kill you, we'll let you in on what we're doing, let's be friends" Everythings just stupidly fast.
This is something that's really bothered me about anime recently, the manga's a long and intricate and subtle and deep story and the anime shoves it all into about 10 minutes and end the whole story early in a dumb way. Personally I'm not a fan of reading manga's (i donno i just never have been...even when i was little and my brother tried to get me into American comics, it's just not something I really enjoyed) ...and I just love anime...the music, the color, the movement, the story, all comes together into one beautiful piece of art to me.
Welp, it looks like I'm being forced to read another Manga

Yea it does suck when the anime butchers the manga. I like reading manga so it doesn't suck that much for me but I do like to see a lot of stuff animated because it does add another dimension seeing everything in color, music, character voices, etc. I have Brynhildr on my plan to watch list but maybe I will check out the manga 1st if they are cramming too much into a couple of episodes. I wonder if this happens because of the way they schedule and organize anime seasons, so things generally try to conform to 12-13 episodes per season and sometimes they rush the last couple.
|
conforming to the season might be right, I always just figured it was b/c they were just trying to get more people to go out and buy the manga's
|
Even if they did it at manga pace, Gokukoku would still be retarded. Just in a different way.
|
Yea that too, I have seen people in this thread sometime refer to the anime as an "expensive commercial" for the manga lol.
And Souma, I am sorry but I am almost done with the 1st episode and I do not think this show is for me. Its the setting, Zombie apocalypse and all the accompanying gore. Some of the characters they have just shown (but not yet in the story) are the ones that looked like interesting characters when I was reading about the series so maybe I will give it some more time. Honestly though through most of it I just thought "I hope Rei dies because she is annoying and stupid".

On the bright side, if you do manage to like Gokukoku, there is a whole slew of things that I called terrible over the last year or so that might as well as be carbon copies of it. So you'll have no lack of things to watch. By that I mean at some point the manga industry learned that if you throw in enough gore while not explaining anything, then following it up with a big deus ex...I mean, um, reveal. You'll get an audience. Bonus points for pretending to be based off some kind of classical literature or mythology, preferably ones that aren't too foreign to the Japanese culture. Quoting them also yields points, but less so than when you just take random elements of what you are referring to and tossing them in the story for no other reason than wanting to do it to look cool. You can then repeat the process indefinitely until people grow tired of your bullshit, but by then you should've sold 6~7 vols at amazon sales top rankings, so you'll be rolling in cash unless the publisher fucked you.
Oh right, even after people get tired of it. You can murder the majority of the cast to bring the audience back. Don't worry, you can revive probably all of them without any consequences.
The worst part of it is that I am not even referring to Naruto by that.

What ones are that? I have a feeling there is something on your list that I like lol.
|
While I was writing that post, Akame ga Kiru, Gokukoku, and Zetsuen no Tempest were what I had in mind. There are a lot of things of that vein though. Spazer can probably list more.

I have only heard of Gokukoku so I guess I am in the clear.
