Whaaaat you didn't find the epic, multiple day battle of the boys to enter the girls changing room? :D Himeji's evil smile and voice are hilarious and the girls torturing the boys was always fun.
I'm pretty sure the anime studio would get feedback from Hiro Mashima on what they are producing. The manga actually ships lucy and natsu badly. Natsu treats lucy like a pet and lucy calls natsu the first everytime she gets in danger or in need. And the Hiro's drawing also makes sure that it's shipped. Despite that it's wayyy too cheesy. If you use the standards of their interaction as a ship you could say Fairy Tail is just one big orgy. Natsu is oblivious to anything to do with romance. Lucy has had some thought into it but every time she is a mess about it because she isn't mentally prepared for that and she was always wavering more towards "probably not" whenever her dating Natsu was mentioned to her or crossed her mind. I don't think how you describe their interactions as being anything close to a ship anyway. I think a little wishful thinking :p BigFan I am curious if you are watching it in Englishor Japanese because i only have seen a little of Baka to Test in Japanese, so if you are and like the cast I might watch a few of my favorite eps in Japanese then. I'm watching the whole thing in Japanese. The voices are really well done and they 'fit' lol. I would say give it a try. Next thing you know, you'll be watching all the other episodes in Japanese lol. I am probably spoiled by watching it in English 1st so any new voices will feel off (which they did in the bits I watched in it). I think the old animes I've watched in languages other than Japanese are db/dbz/db gt, yu-gi-oh, pepero and Future boy conan.

by the way BIgfan .. you should just try your luck with manga regarding fairy tail .. i was quite disappointed in the anime to be honest .. it didn't bring the feeling that i got when i was reading the manga

Actually this is true but later on the series i won't count it out. At first i didn't seem to notice it and have the same opinion but as later goes on i noticed that Hiro Mashima puts effort into drawing it for example he sometimes specifically drawing them to either HHWR when they are both excited on looking for stuff or something or seem to be too physical for friends level while he doesn't do that on other character except jellal/erza, juvia/gray and Hiro mashima dedicates a lot of page just to explicitly allow natsu and lucy to have a conversation of "i depend on you". Just review the manga and you'll notice what i mean and it's just hard to notice since he does so much "i will protect my nakama scene + speech" but pretty sure his nakama scene when it comes to lucy is too much and too sentimental at times.
Of course Jellal and Erza is basically legit. Anyways i'm still mad on why + Show Spoiler +Hiro decides to revive Jellal during Oracion seis arc. He could have a comeback but maybe later as a villain. I hated how he destroyed the character.

I am also mad about Jellal and the shameless attempt by Hiro to have a bunch of other characters debase themselves to try and justify his switch to the good guys.
In regards to Natsu and Lucy I agree entirely that Hiro is setting the scene for a future romance but considering the train wreck of an attempt to do romance with jellal and Erza I almost wish he wouldnt because erza and jellal is a bad joke. Natsu and Lucy will always have that potential because.you are right they are closer. One thing I find amusing is that before Hiro knew FT was going to go on for a while you could make the argument that a lot of Erza/Natsu interactions held that potential heh.
I wouldn't be surprised if he added it really late like a lot of other shonens because he honestly can't be trusted to do it properly at this point.

Erza had a potential with everyone. She was gearing for a gangbang lol.
Erza/Jellal was great when it was still under the "untapped intimate tension" due to their great past and tower arc backing it up but Hiro completely threw the awesome thing they had with each other out of the window

They were close but they didn't establish any real love between them in the flashbacks (because they weren't being shipped at first). Then Erza goes from hate to love in the space of a day after he comes back. Then post time skip her and Ultear go on an appology tour deflecting any blame from him. Just so poorly done and not believable.

that's why it great before when it was just some palpable tension since they depended on each other at one point and treated each other as family level trust/intimacy not necessarily as family .. that was good enough

Yes I agree completely. I could even be fine with them hooking up if Hiro had established it properly then had it progress in a natural way but nope. I think its mostly due to the fact that he didn't expect the manga to continue much farther after the Tower of Heaven so the story isn't as tight. Plus he has people putting pressure on him to do things + Show Spoiler +like bringing Jellal and the sister back.

I think he thought it would be cancelled lol. It wouldn't have been a terrible stopping point. The scene with Natsu holding Erza on the beach was nice and it resolved a huge thing in her past that had been hanging over her for so long.

Good idea in switching the field and using math as the main subject compared to physics. Overall, good anime and would recommend it. I'm not sure who I ship though >.> I like both Himeji and Minami's character. Himeji has got that cute soft voice. Minami's got cute moments as well like when she was beet red after she heard him saying that she is charming girl lol. Who do you guys want him to end up with if we even get another season or an ending?

hmm I think in general, most anime steer away from the manga. Not because they want to but I guess they have a hard time replicating it in some cases. In other cases, they just decide to drop things from the manga for whatever reason and cram everything just to 'finish' an anime within a certain number of episodes. How long is the fairy tail manga?
I'll consider english dub for black lagoon and baccano when I get around to them.

Whaaaat you didn't find the epic, multiple day battle of the boys to enter the girls changing room? :D Himeji's evil smile and voice are hilarious and the girls torturing the boys was always fun.
I'm pretty sure the anime studio would get feedback from Hiro Mashima on what they are producing. The manga actually ships lucy and natsu badly. Natsu treats lucy like a pet and lucy calls natsu the first everytime she gets in danger or in need. And the Hiro's drawing also makes sure that it's shipped. Despite that it's wayyy too cheesy. If you use the standards of their interaction as a ship you could say Fairy Tail is just one big orgy. Natsu is oblivious to anything to do with romance. Lucy has had some thought into it but every time she is a mess about it because she isn't mentally prepared for that and she was always wavering more towards "probably not" whenever her dating Natsu was mentioned to her or crossed her mind. I don't think how you describe their interactions as being anything close to a ship anyway. I think a little wishful thinking :p BigFan I am curious if you are watching it in Englishor Japanese because i only have seen a little of Baka to Test in Japanese, so if you are and like the cast I might watch a few of my favorite eps in Japanese then. I'm watching the whole thing in Japanese. The voices are really well done and they 'fit' lol. I would say give it a try. Next thing you know, you'll be watching all the other episodes in Japanese lol. I am probably spoiled by watching it in English 1st so any new voices will feel off (which they did in the bits I watched in it). At first i didn't seem to notice it and have the same opinion but as later goes on i noticed that Hiro Mashima puts effort into drawing it for example he sometimes specifically drawing them to either HHWR when they are both excited on looking for stuff or something or seem to be too physical for friends level while he doesn't do that on other character except jellal/erza, juvia/gray and Hiro mashima dedicates a lot of page just to explicitly allow natsu and lucy to have a conversation of "i depend on you". Just review the manga and you'll notice what i mean and it's just hard to notice since he does so much "i will protect my nakama scene + speech" but pretty sure his nakama scene when it comes to lucy is too much and too sentimental at times. Of course Jellal and Erza is basically legit. Anyways i'm still mad on why + Show Spoiler +Hiro decides to revive Jellal during Oracion seis arc. He could have a comeback but maybe later as a villain. I hated how he destroyed the character. hmm I think in general, most anime steer away from the manga. Not because they want to but I guess they have a hard time replicating it in some cases. Shows that try to emulate western culture or setting for example cowboybebop actually sounds so cool when it's english dub. It does matter at times but usually japanese are preferable since they execute and give the emotion of the character so much better than other dubs.
Oh yeah add Cowboy bebop to the list bigfan if ever you watch eng dub. I find Baccano, Black Lagoon and Cowboybebop the only one much better when i watched eng dub i also have watched the jap dub of it.
Anyways fairy tail has 387 chapters and updating weekly. FT is very popular so expect the anime to be longer. It felt really dragged on when i watch the anime but yeah you are right.

Just finished watching Planetes, was a really nice change of pace after watching Nisekoi. It had a pretty interesting plot and even though you hate the MC sometimes, most of the cast was pretty likable. I would recommend it if you're interested in space or just want to watch a solid 26 episode anime.
Now im not sure what to watch, started Natsume Yuujinchou but not sure if i'll stick with it. Guess ill give it a few more episodes.

Fairy Tail is clearly #2 now after One Piece. Not because it did anything but because Bleach and Naruto imploded. Hey everyone has different tastes though. I was talking with a friend today and he said that One Piece was almost as good as Bleach..
Sent isn't kidding about the hand holding either either rofl, when it comes down to it that actually happened (though they all thought they were going to die at the time). Still ERZA is boss when Jellal isn't dragging her down and the other characters are competently done. Like Sent said it is really One Piece Lite but with a lot more fan service.

Yes it was kinda ok at pain's arc. Still disappointed that Kishi decided to revive kakashi and everyone who died at that arc though but that was ok. Until he starts turning the show into the walking dead and dbz crossover.
