Too much fanservice isn't good for my reputation. Which is sad since the story on its own could stand with less or no Fanservice.
i think it's the way the ln was written they followed it pretty closely if these translations are accurate
Damn, they cut out the part where Hasumin tried to hand Toru her child "please...take care of him...." and then Toru opens the blanket... yea I guess even there's a limit to soul crushing scenes.
Wow, this was a really good ep. Kayano Ai voicing Shiro felt pretty meh to me lately, but when she starts to get hysterical and desperate you can really start to feel for her.
Also, the sound direction in this anime is great. They know how to fit the mood perfectly or hype something up. Really good stuff, I cant wait for the OST.

try to watch Episode 10, the next one, when you're alone at home. You're welcome
Jibril is the character that Tamura Yukari voices, right? Thus far I've had no incentive to watch anything new, ever since anime died when Gundam Build Fighters ended, but how worth would it be to watch NGNL entirely for Yukarin?
Yeah Jibril is easily best but Kurami is really good too. The elf is probably the only one that I couldn't care less about.

She's pretty awesome but you won't see her until episode 5 or 6 I think, which means half of the anime won't have Jibril because it's a 12 episodes series. Add to that that it's a comedy and that those kind of things can be perceived very differently AND I've got no idea whatsoever in what kind of comedy you'd be interested. Go ahead and watch some youtube clips:
It's the pink haired angel thingie, though might be slightly spoilerish but you already know that Jibril is "joining" the party and that he thus didn't lose the game vs her because everyone's talking about her in here
Its a fun show that has some cleverness to it. The fan service gets a bit on the weird side once in a while though. Yes Tamura Yukari does voice Jibril and she has a fair amount of screen time once she makes her appearance and one of the best episodes was the one where they face her in a game.

Not worth it. In my opinion. I just don't see you liking this show at all.
The elf hasn't gotten enough screen time to make a judgement on her yet. All we know is that she seems to have a crush on Kurami, or at least thats the vibe I get from her.

Toru was reminiscing about his past, and he remembered when he had a crush on Hasumin. Kind of like a student teacher crush in elementary school. Anyways, Hasumin had a husband, and was pregnant. Toru was always excited to see her, and he wanted to go out and kill people even before his training was done; to make Hatsumin proud of him. But Hasumin would just smile sadly. Then she would go on and talk about her dreams of being able to settle down in a village.
But then one day Hasumin's caravan was ransacked by bandits. By the time the villagers and Toru located the caravan, everyone else was dead, and Hatsumin had been stabbed in several places, including right through her abdomen "the noises coming out of her couldn't even be described as sounding human"... she then mutters Toru's name twice and hands him her child. Even if in her heart she knew her child was dead, she couldn't or wouldn't accept it. All she wanted was a quiet life. Toru left both corpses, and together with his village found the bandits and slaughtered them. But Hatsumin didn't come back. And then Toru's view on life and the battlefield changed forever.
