Yeaaaa....they're really bad sometimes. Some of the official translations aren't really that good either, but that could just be the story. I mean....I personally thought Welcome to the NHK was a great anime but the novel adaptation (I THINK I read the official translation) was just....really really bad by comparison.
Favorite translation of some of those light novels is still Uta's Remembrances of a Certain Pilot. :3

Problem with Bakatsuki is that 90% are Getto JP > CHN > ENG translations.

Haha, I hope you didn't watch it because of me mentioning it. Gundam Wing is "good" if you are in Middle School watching it in the late 90s. But it has aged terribly.
And yes, everyone is a nutjob. In my Gundam Blog, I think I mockingly summarized the plot with "The Illuminati are trying to take over the world, lets send 5 sociopaths in invincible death machines to stop them with terrorism!" So every single character is a fucking psycho. Here are your main cast in Gundam Wing:- A "I'm going to kill you" Chirico clone who is constantly trying to kill himself but failing.
- A guy who acts chill most of the time and then explodes with "I'M THE FUCKING GOD OF DEATH ILL KILL EVERY ONE OF YOU MUAHAHAHA"
- A guy who sits inside his invincible death machine and cries about all the fighting around him
- A chauvinistic failure who spends his freetime verbally abusing wild animals
- A silent circus clown freak
And against these guys, you have the most blatant Char Clone to ever Char Clone, and a guy who takes bathes in roses while masturbating about how beautiful battle is, while memorizing the name of every single person/mook who dies throughout the entire series. Take these characters and then haphazardly throw in plot points from Zeta Gundam and Char's Counterattack, and you have Gundam Wing.

There have been plenty of developments in Nisekoi post 50. Yea its slowly paced because that's the nature of this genre and its popular as fuck so why not? For me the pace and rate of development hasn't detracted from my enjoyment of it. Yes there is a fine line but I wouldn't say Nisekoi has passed that point yet.
