So to Ecael: I was already 3 episodes in when the whole watching the movies over the series was mentioned and while I expect plot holes and things not making sense if you think about it, when those things can render the big choices that the main characters make moot then its a problem. | ||

Having said that, the "Terror fading into Death" title makes me think that Emiru will die since I can't see how they can possibly reverse it as this point. Probably used as a motivator for the rest of the group to work hard to prevent anymore deaths like her. and i always wondered why IRC rizon hate me. Good to know i'm not the only one. The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan is complete garbage. If only they continue the haruhi series since I just wanna see Sasaki animated Oh well .. I am also a Haruhi fanboy so i don't really mind the underwhelming continuation after disappearance. I just wanna see one of my favorite shows The cat in madoka is creepy zero-empathy-evil cool. It's nice to see some fresh perspective not always the goody-cho-cho type of magical creature. | ||

On the madoka stuff: I'm not sure if the show needs them to be little girls. I mean the entire premise of the show is to make people think it's something different by the way it is portrayed, at least early on. To make people think it's just another cute, magical girl series. In that sense, yeah it obviously needs them to be girls. + Show Spoiler + I mean when I watched it I didn't know about it so I went through the first 1 or 2 episodes and thought it's really boring and almost dropped it, suddenly episode 3 happened and I'm like "oooookay.... but it's going to be fine. Sayaka is going to use her wish for crippled boy and Madoka is going to use her wish for Mami and everything's going to be fine, right?" and we all know how that ended up. So I was really suprised when I watched it because I wasn't expecting that at all and that's usually a good thing for me if it's not just unexpected because stupid. From a story's point of view I don't think so, Sent said something about it and I've never watched what he mentioned so I wouldn't know but Matrix is fairly close from a stories premise as well I guess? From a characters point of view... probably. Madoka would be the most annoying shit to ever exist if she wasn't a 14 year old (idk, something like that?) little dipshit. I spent a lot of time yelling at my TV and begging her to just get her shit together and be done with it instead of constantly whining "oh what should I do" until I realized that she's a little girl and not supposed to be able to get her shit together, just like Sansa from GoT. Prime example for this in a negative way would be deathnote imo. Same thing but you'd expect him to NOT behave like a 3 year old little girl and be done with it instead of constantly whining. I also don't think it was all that shocking or at least shocking isn't the word I'd use for it but I can't think of anything better really. | ||

I much preferred the third movie to the series, though that relies on "shock value" for lack of a better word even more than the series, but it was executed better. Also it pissed off people who liked the series apparently so that's a plus for me. | ||

Even if you don't know the show is written by Urobuchi, the very first scene + Show Spoiler + depicts a visually bizarre dream sequence with creepy music and a girl in a hopeless fight against a grotesque monstrosity. Okay, I get that you might not expect it to turn as dark as it did, but it's pretty damn obvious right from the start that it isn't going to be a happy-go-lucky story.
