Actually I hate watching those light hearted shows or those comedy shows that butts its head into every season. I remember dropping noragami because it was way too unserious. Holy shit i like you already. You described everything that i look for in anime.
We may have the same tastes you may like Fate Zero.
Although i have some exception to the fanservicey comedy shows that i actually enjoy for some reason. Like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Monogatari, Nisekoi and FMP: Fumoffo(i forgot the others).

Some comedy is okay. Mostly depends on type of humor. I can't get past the generic shit but monogatari and extremely over the top things like sayonara zetsubou or guren lagan or no game no life is okay with me. I'm also fine with comedy that balances itself out with another genre I like (except action)
I already saw Fate zero LOL. Great show I agree

I read Mahouka cause its an infodump with a fascinating world. I love Yamato nadeshiko characters like Miyuki and badasses like Tatsuya. I also like all the other characters in the series. The series is mainly about politics, the magic system, and the characters interactions and relationships with each other. Its not everyone's taste but I'm fine with that. Fan service and moe I don't notice in the novel, but madhouse was dumb and focused too much on the small bits of fanservice. The incest will never happen. There's no romance in that series to begin with lol.
Speaking of which, I need more animes with Yamato nadeshikos heroines / leads that aren't comedy >_>

Is this a conspiracy to kill me and ragz from laughing too hard?
EDIT - wait this guy read the translations and still thinks that way? How bad can fan translations get.

See if you read it like a case of translations being shit instead of someone with less than elementary school reading comprehension, you'd laugh.
Alternatively we can look at this as an example of illiteracy being an issue in the US. Or perhaps, Sweden.

Then can we just agree to disagree. You really aren't going to convince me of anything at this point simply cause I'm not interpreting it in the same way you are. I wouldn't know if the translations are shit but I'm taking what I can get cause I really don't have time right now to get out the books and learn Japanese.

I mean, I recall people have managed to construe arguments about how Twilight is a literary masterpiece that discusses poignant issues in segregation and gender roles. If that's the kind of standard you want to hold things up to, then sure, rettousei stands a pretty good chance at being what you called it. What was it again? A series about politics, magic system and character interaction?
The politics of the series boils down to Japanese nationalism. Notice how Japan, with its magical (literally!) technological superiority, keeps its independence while holding back the great enemy that is a combined state of China and Korea. The said state, btw, is filled with copycats for Japanese technology and tries to beat Japanese quality with quantity. Poor Japan has itself an untrustworthy ally in the US. Oh, and the EU doesn't exist. Nor does Russia really.
Yeah. Politics.
We could make a decent case of it reflecting Japanese youth mentality though, want to try that?
Let's move onto the magic system next, I guess. A lot of people have a fascination with Clarke's words in "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." Natural result? Magic casted by technology. Nevermind how it is already fairly rampant in Western scifi-esque stuff, even in otaku culture there has been a ton of this already. Though among them, rettousei does a decent job working out a rather detailed system for magic. Certainly more effort put in there then say, Index, where things happen because we say they happen.
Unfortunately the system doesn't really get used for much, Tatsuya drops random talks about random shit that affects magic use, proves himself immune to all of those things, beats other people up using loopholes that only he can exploit, etc. The intrigues of the background there doesn't get used for anything beyond showing how Tatsuya is the second coming of Jesus-Kirito and resurrects himself while nuking an army from across the sea, all without breaking a sweat.
Character interaction...umm...you mean how everyone hits on Tatsuya, except for people that audience/readership don't seem to care, so a male character is introduced every time indifference rears its ugly head and a girl gets shipped another direction. After that, two more girls show up after Tatsuya's dick. Par for the course really, if anything, I have to acknowledge the effort of not just adding people to a harem, but adding guys to catch those who failed out of Tatsuya's harem.
Amusingly enough, all of this puts the series at about the level one'd expect for a webnovel that found a publisher from being popular enough. So I guess it isn't so bad after all. I'll take my original assessment back. You aren't illiterate, and most certainly have a literacy level above that of an elementary school student.
You are just about as literate as an eighth grader, sharing the same level of chuu2 thought as them.

I watched Mahouka last night just to see for myself how it was. I'm going to say it how it is: it's more interesting than NGNL at the very least.
But really, people need to get over the whole 'omg much nationalism' spin. Who the fuck cares? There are many countries that top Japan in nationalism (America for one) and yet, every time something blatantly exhibits some Japanese nationalism it gets a ton of flack. I don't care one bit if it's nationalist, and people who get their panties in a bunch because of it are plain silly.
Mahouka isn't a great anime, and it certainly isn't all that original. However, it isn't a pile of poo like some people tend to make it out to be. The sibling love does get pushed too much, and it's a shame Hanakana is the student council president (god damn it), but beyond that the voice cast is great, the animation is nice, and the setting is interesting enough to keep me going. The characters are, for the most part, not dull and not annoying, and that already is a plus for such a show in this day and age.
Of course, only being six episodes in, I am not afforded the insight that you guys have regarding future events (and it'd be nice if you could stop spoiling shit), but at least for now it's a good enough of a watch that I'll keep watching. At least the imouto is Hayamin, so the almost-incest isn't all that bad.
