opinion right there ^^ There's nothing wrong with disliking something. I've actually disliked plenty of elements in different animes but it wasn't anything major. FMP just rubbed me the wrong way when I watched it so I stopped. An anime should grab you within the first 5 episodes and even 5 episodes is generous. I watched more than that for FMP and it didn't, too bad. Maybe I'll revisit it after watching animes on my "to watch" list but for now, I don't plan on it  Also, I don't really look into whose makes what anime and watch based on that. I look at the story and other factors then give the first couple of episodes a try. If I enjoy it whether it's entertaining, good story etc... then I continue watching

ok and? As I said, I watched a decent bit of the beginning of FMP so I didn't blankly write it off like I've seen others do for other animes. Either accept that I didn't like it or guess don't accept it? lol. It's really not that hard to believe that I have my own preferences.

I think M3's intention was to be some dark and edgy horror mecha show and it certainly has potential to do that. I think the story is fine for what it tries to do but the execution is a bit all over the place. It's not bad and i can get through it pretty easily. Though i wouldn't rate it very high compared to the other real-robot show this season. I think the art was pretty intentional and i see the merits of why they drew it like that. It's 2 cour so there's still a lot of place to grow so i'm hoping the execution gets better.
For Akuma no Riddle, I just think it's a cute show. It's episodic a bit and the episode is largely determined by the assassin of the week. For example, i liked the sadist scissor girl, haruki, and kirigaya episode but the bomb girl episode is a bit bleh. It seems to have an original ending because the manga isn't very far so that may be interesting. Some episodes are paced well but the kirigaya episode really suffered from bad pacing so the ending wasn't as good as it should have been  . Fun show to watch though for me. I guess i just like the premise.

Its not like FMP is beyond criticism. Hell the 1st season actually pales in comparison to the next 2 seasons of it (for different reasons obviously because Fumoffu and Second Raid are so different).
When it comes to NGNL yea its mindless fun. The "service" in 6 was excessive though and every time anime strays to that level its more like "oh God just hurry up and move on to the actual good part".

Sure, its not without its share of flaws. Its more like this is the same guy who watches School Days, refuses to call it bad, and then randomly singles out FMP as "awful". And now is on a defensive tour of condescension about it.

To be honest I found the extremely undetailed nudity weird and off putting. I get that they can't show much, but then why go to that point? It reduces characters to mannequins.
Speaking of School Days I remembered you all talking about it and so I downloaded to troll myself after school ends and I need to unwind. Should be fun in a week. :3

I thought school days and FMP were pretty damn good for each of their own merits. Two of my high rated animes tbh. But they are completely different shows

yes, I got the same feeling from M3. Parts of the animation seem lacking though? The cgi does seem to stand out at times and I don't think that's intentional. hmm fair points. I think it's only going to get better and I can see that happening already
I think that's the only part that I'm annoyed with though I can understand why it's done like that. I enjoyed Kirigaya's episode as well though it was also saddening to watch Well, they crammed a lot into that episode imo. + Show Spoiler +We also lost Shiena and Chitaru in the same episode though Chitaru and Kirigaya dying in the same episode is expected.

marathon it. It's only 12 or 13 episodes so it's easily doable and probably the best experience.

Damn, I totally missed that. But it doesn't change my point that it was weird and unneeded. You can have fanservice without just going all out balls to the wall Never mind I keep forgetting what show we're talking about here.

School Days is just built off shock value. Nothing besides the ending stands out besides being very average. Its another thing if the show was actually good and the ending could have made a good anime great but it just made an average show look pretentious because it was trying to be "anti" the mainstream for its genre.
