yeah, he basicly taunted her and went all-in on that. If there's one thing I don't like about the show, it has got to be his willingness to go all-in with so little reason to do so. Okay I can somewhat understand it starting now and you might argue that there's no way to beat those magical abusers any other way but there wasn't really any reason to start off with that hydrogen bomb. They said he wanted to test if you can use things the other person doesn't know but you don't have to summon a frickin hydrogen bomb to test that... Just unnecessary risk for no gain. Or in episode 1, the very first bet when he bet his life against those 3 poor guys... did you really have to go all-in there? Couldn't he just have betted something along the lines of my workforce for 1 month or even a year? Sure he probably would have gotten less in return but I'd rather make 3 games that way than play a single with my life on the line.
That's literally the only thing I don't like about the show but like someone said, just ignore that it makes no sense and enjoy the ride. It's way more hilarious that way.

Side note: Wow I just found an anime that uses HP Lovecraftian creatures but as girls? OMG I have to watch this no matter how bad it might be. Anyone watch this Haiyore! Nyaruko san? Apparently has 2 seasons too.
Seriously? You haven't seen nyaruko-san? It was amazing if you're into parody. And it has Asumi fricking Kana.
I've got it rated as 7/10, so amazing is probably an exaggeration but it's worth a shot. It has a lot of references to other stuff. It's REALLY weird, pants on head weird. If you're into stuff like kore wa zombie desu ka you'll like it. Not that it's particularly like kore wa zombie desu ka imo but it's the only thing that I've seen that somewhat resembles it.
Nyaruko has a good OP I think I'll try and find it once I get home. I started watching it because of that OP not the way to go. I dropped it once I figured out how they were doing things in terms of comedy and stuff.

yeah agree, it's just the only thing that came to my mind when I tried to think of really really weird comedy / parody.

Oh crap, that's season 2 opening, I'll try and find the first one

2nd season doesn't have much except Chris, but Chris is glorious

I think part of it is that he's so confident that Blank won't lose that he's willing to bet everything he has on it. Yes, he could easily bid less and get less in return but what fun is that? lol. Either way, I wouldn't expect them to lose anytime soon XD

yeah of course noone expects them to lose anytime soon but doing it for shitz and giggles, especially when your life is on the line just sounds stupid... Most of us probably played poker at some point, right? Just doesn't sit right with me. Even if he's 99.999999% sure he'll win, there's always that 0.0000001% chance for a mini-meteor to give him a concussion and to lose that way if nothing else.
Let's be real. The author really bends a lot of stuff to get his way. Like when they played Black Jack to demonstrate it wasn't luck, yeah sure it isn't luck if you're gonna play out the full deck and count cards, but if they just played one hand that would have been totally luck. When Sora went on his rambling about "there is no such thing as luck" I seriously facepalmed as the author tried to write himself out of that pile of doodoo.
I more or less fall under the same boat as spazer when he says he's been unimpressed with NGNL. Yukarin was good though. In the end the anime is more about the fanservice than anything else, and that in itself isn't a bad thing per se because I'm one of those people who loves being serviced and pandered to, but I can't take NGNL any more seriously than that.
Oh, I did however enjoy the speech he made during his address to the townspeople. It rambled on a little too long but it was well written and executed, surprisingly.
