The female protagonist is always the weak dependant slut. I'm so tired of this, they can't do anything by themselves, all they do is scream for help while they flash their pantsu to get the male audience aroused. A woman in distress mmm... No wonder Miyazaki is a feminist.

Occult academy looks fun. This is probably the least likely to be dropped anytime soon. :D EDIT: That AMV is pretty sick.

but it's a fucking zombie anime how can there be content? I don't know a single zombie movie that managed to have content AND be entertaining scratch that, 28 Days Later and Dawn of the Dead managed it. REC to a certain extent if you're into the dark genre. Out of what, 200+ movies? I'm just hoping the anime has some lulz and good violence, it's hard to expect anything else really. And regarding hotd -- If the show took itself seriously I'd be more upset, but it clearly doesn't. I really don't mind fanservice at all as long as it doesn't show up inexplicably in more serious shows.+ Show Spoiler + I'M LOOKING AT YOU GHOST IN THE SHELL ![]()

It's just bad writing and bad characterization, I really don't know how else to put it. Finished up a moment ago, I am relatively fine with that since I am out for amusement before all really. I do think that it is a problem that early volumes of a series suffer from fairly often though. With the author yet to obtain a good grasp of exactly where to take the characters. That said, fairly flat first vol, author needs to make up his mind soon how to use these characters. If vol 2 is like that still, then damn, this starts slow.

I actually finished vol 3 earlier and they're still acting the same way. Like, all the characters. There's no movement whatsoever, which makes the end of 3 (you'll see it when you get there) kinda like zzzzz.

Besides, we might get beta back soon, no reading for a while as we work off the frustrations of not having sc2 to play with for so long? ![]() Strike Witches 2 aired, sitting on the sideline and watching people's reactions now.

I haven't watched many zombie animes (do they even exist?) but as far as comparing to movies, it does an ok job at being unique and grasping your attention (it's still fairly early to say that but let's just talk about ep1) sure there's unnecessary fanservice (girl is about to get mauled to death -> close up on her panties. SUUUUUUURE) but it's not like anime can really go in details. It can't be too gore, it can't be too bloody (lol black blood in School Days), it won't show you chopped up zombies. So what's left to do if you can't show those? a. comedy (Zombieland, Shaun of the Dead): kinda makes zombies not scary since you know the protagonist(s) are going to live since they drive the show. Zombies aren't really the main part of the story, they're more like the reason there's a story to tell. b. realism (28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead): kinda explain what's up but not entirely, set some ground rules (SHOOT DA HEADDDDDDDD) and let the protagonist(s) slowly die while driving the action to the climax. c. suck (Resident Evil): LOLOOLOLLOLOLOLOLOOLLOLOLOOLOLOLOLOLOLLOOLLOOLLOOL. Take yourself way too seriously and horribly fail at making your project anything near decent. d. ???: Lesbian zombies. yeah I went there. HSotD is somewhat going for realism (I think) but in anime I don't think it's quite suitable cause it's action/blood driven and like I mentioned, it can't go too far into that. So they fill the gaps with fanservice and an unnecessary slut. I'm not saying it's a good way to fill the holes but still, at the very least I'm excited to see how it'll turn out. Not necessarily how good it's gonna be.
