I heard the 2nd half was supposed to get darker. I guess the violent and bloody way she attacked her mom is a sign of that? I wonder what kind of powers the director must have since she is like #1 life fiber fan. Though to be honest she deserved to get stabbed for that horrible outfit she was wearing.

A bunch of fighting, Krusty is a boss, it finally got "revealed" that Rudy is one of the people from the land, he died like in the OP and as pointed out by Elem, he will survive like pointed out by me because it's just "anime death" as was at the very least hinted in the preview oh and Minori is now fully mini-Shiroe.

But all in all a lot of action and they've finally pushed it over the everyone-knows-whats-with-rudy-but-noone-mentioned-it hill. Good that's finally over. The whole thing wasn't too cheesy on the emotional side imo so yeah, really liked it.

Maybe I misunderstood, but I swear someone said the NPCs COULD be revived with magic in a previous episode. Of course, everyone saw this coming considering Rudy lying there dead with Isuzu crying is in the OP.

It's still possible the condition is that it's done immedietly after death though it seemed close enough so I was confused when I read this scene in the LN. I guess it's combination of not getting there fast enough and Rudy being low level.

As the Essence started to disperse, as described before, the Essence was the source of energy for the body... Ki. Stronger and higher level bodies would take longer for the Essence to disperse. Lower levels or frail Essence would disperse in a matter of minutes, but strong Essence would take up to half a day to disperse. This process was called 'Failing Essence'.

When healers casted Resurrection, it was used on a body in such a condition. The method gathered the Essence that had dispersed around the area, reconstructed it, and sent it back into the body.

If there was not enough Ki during the reconstructing process, the healer would top off with her own Ki. The information needed for reconstructing was taken from the body in front and calculated by reverse engineering. If there were any mistake in the calculations, it would result in the resurrected player losing EXP, this was an unavoidable data corruption.

If resurrection was not used and the Essence dispersed completely, the body would not be able to maintain its form. In physical terms the body would start to decompose, People of the Land in this condition were dead... Yes, resurrection unexpectedly worked on the People of the Land. But the condition was casting it immediately after death.

The Sage of Miral Lake explains death:

1. Your hit points reach 0, you fall and can't move. This is your basic "dead" state. But, your mind is still alive. As soon as this happens anima dispersal begins.
   
2. This is where revival spells happen. Using a revival spell on an Adventurer will return the dispersed anima kind of like reversing the dispersal. The process isn't perfect, and explains the experience loss that happened before the apocalypse. (Shiroe also hypothesizes that people lose parts of their memories due to this.) The sage makes special note that revival spells WILL work on People of the Land at this point.
   
3. Anima dispersal is complete. For Adventurers, they now will go to revive in a cathedral. People of the Land are permanently dead here.
   

That's my paraphrasing of what was said at least, but there seems to be more to it than that. Otherwise Minori and Serara would've been able to revive him.
