I think just from the last few days, the Seikai Seifuku show, Hozuki, Cecil, and a few others have caught my eye.
Definitely a better opening for most of these shows as opposed to last season where I just couldn't get into mostly anything. :/

Only half? That seems pretty good for a season. o_O

But I meant that half of the shows that I choose to watch turned out to be shit. Meaning, half the shows I watched made it through my "this is shit, don't watch it" Filter, and attacked me with their badness.

I'm holding out hope for Space Dandy, but at this rate I don't know if it's going to make it. The OST is going to be a must-have though. Dat nu disco.

Last season was indeed pretty underwhelming. The nice surprises were of course Ippo and Daiya no Ace, and then Yowamushi Pedal because I have a bias for sports anime.
Other than that... only Log Horizon seems to really interest me.

Last season was pretty good for me
Kyousougiga, Gundam Fighter, Monogatari S2, Yozakura Quartet, Log Horizon = pretty solid
|
I thought Kyousougiga was great for the almost the entire season, but I wasn't very satisfied with the ending. It all crumbled in front of me. ;____;

Gundam Build Fighter, Log Horizon, and KLK I watched and am still enjoying, but I always watched Arpeggio, KnK, IS2, and Valvrave. And yeah, and Blazblue, but I actually dropped that. I can't really blame anything other than myself for all that, but at any rate, was a rough season overall for me.

why would you watch Blazblue, the game is more fun.

I enjoyed Non Non Biyori, Unbreakable Machine-Doll, IS 2, Kill la Kill, Golden Time, Outbreak Company, and I Couldn't Become a Hero from last season. In retrospect there might be couple more that I would like to try in the future.

I found last season to be decent. I'm pretty sure I watched more than most as well lol. Watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya atm. Not sure to think of it so far. Haruhi is such a forceful person lol. Kyon is pretty ignorant of what needs to be done. Seems like he still doesn't get it so far where I'm at.

Log Horizon is one of the the ones I might try but I have no ounce of will to try valrave. Ever.

Yeah its nice to have the odd season with fewer shows, atleast gives me time to watch older stuff I put off.

It's only getting better as the anime goes on. As for valrave, well, I think it's personal preference. I disliked the first half or around the middle of the first season. Second hasn't been too bad but there are some holes that they should've but didn't cover/explain. If that kind of thing doesn't bother you, I say go for it otherwise stay away? The graphics for Valrave were really well done and clear as well, loved the effects

Valvrave was terrible. The people who "like" Valvrave say they like it because of "so bad its good reasons". Well, I think these people probably don't respect themselves for enjoying things they know to be bad, but whatever. BUT if you hear someone seriously likes it, then you can simply dismiss their opinion entirely, because they are insane. It is horribly written. This has little to do with things "that aren't explained", and just horrible story telling and ass pulls. It doesn't even have any of the pluses Code Geass R2 or Gundam SEED Destiny had. The second season was even far worse than the first season, which says a lot (especially after the first season thought it was a good idea to make light of rape). The only good things about Valvrave were a few spots in the first season, and the Openings.
And as for the visuals, it was horrible as well. They were NOT done really well and clear. In fact, that is the polar opposite of what all the Valvrave fights were like as the show went on. The mecha designs got obnoxiously cluttered and complex, and every single fight they would cram as much particles and lighting and effects onto the screen as possible to mask the bad CG. You can't tell me you can watch the finale and tell whats going on with all that shit cluttering the screen. But I guess on the other hand if they didn't flood the screen with shitty particle effects to mask the bad CG, you would have to suffer through the bad CG like you had to do in IS2.
Why can't studio Orange just do all the CG for mecha anime?

I've never been into anime. I've watched maybe 6 series in my lifetime. But I watched all the first episodes of this season as an experiment to see if I am a secret otaku.
Wizard Barristers: What. Sekai Seifuku - Bouryaku no Zvezda: Loli conquers the world? This is the weirdest shit I've ever seen. I'll check back after the series is over and see if other people thought it was good. Nisekoi: Good characters, great premise, good visuals. Wake Up Girls!: Educational! I was not expecting an anime about idols to have no fanservice. Lots of room for the story to be fleshed out here since there are so many characters. No-Rin: Bland. After watching Silver Spoon the setting here can't compare. Sakura Trick: I don't think yuri is my thing. Magical Warfare: Awful Hozuki no Reitetsu: I have a feeling that half of the jokes went over my head, but I still enjoyed it. Unique art style. Pupa: ???????????? Z/X: Ignition: This was universally panned so I just skipped it. Strange+: I have a feeling that half of the jokes went over my head, but I couldn't enjoy it this time! Lived up to its name. Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Ren: Really nice visuals, but sort of bland. I'll check back after the season is over. Hamatora: This anime has so many elements that could be interesting, but none of them are. Robot Girls Z: I don't think fanservice is my thing. D-Frag!: Really funny. The Pilot's Love Song: Horribly executed drama. Nobunagun: Uhhh did I watch this one? Nobunaga the Fool: Zzzzzzz. Boring/cringeworthy/awful direction. Tonari no Seki-kun: Fucking amazing. Noragami: I was sold from the moment the OP started playing. Great sound in this one. Visuals are really good too. Feels like this one could run out of steam quickly. Space Dandy: This was hyped? Witch Craft Works: I don't know what is making me give the second episode a try.
So right now I haven't dropped:
Silver Spoon S2 (THIS SHOW IS SO GOOD GUYS) Noragami Wake Up Girls! Witch Craft Works (barely) Tonari no Seki-Kun D-Frag! Hozeki no Reitetsu (barely) Nisekoi Kill La Kill (although this will change if Trigger doesn't get their shit together soon)
Things went about as I expected. Bad anime is really bad. But I think I overestimated how many shows each season are bad shows?

There is something about Witch Craft Works that I liked and I wasn't sure why either.

I consider Monogatari S2 to be from the season before since that's when it started :d
I haven't watched Kyousougiga, Gundam, and Yozakura Quartet yet though. I should get on that. Can't believe I forgot about them.

Witch Craft Works has the hot megane witch.
She reminds me of Fumin from Sora no Manimani so much.
