I liked the art style that they implemented. It did give me wtf moments every once in a while though. Definitely bizzare to watch XD

I watched black rock shooter tv and I accidentally had some trollsubs that had long notes about how retarded the characters were behaving.
It was fun.

Plus Kiritsugu has the double sin of also raising the shitty MC from F/SN lol. How's Kiritsugu a horrible person?
BRS not as bad as a lot of people like to claim imo, even though it was pretty stupid at times.

Most of them are horrible. But on kirisugu's defense + Show Spoiler +He thought if he won the grail war. He would find true peace so costing a life of some ain't too bad for that bargain. And besides he didnt know that grail doesnt grant that kind of wish.

Iono, I loved that episode for the trollsubs.

In my opinion, Planetes wasn't that good, I gave it a weak 7. One thing is that it didn't feel seamless. It was like: "And today we learn about character X". So character depth was only created in one episode which I didn't really like --> felt too episodic. Also, the plot was too predictable.
|
What do you mean by the plot was too predictable? o_O
I also disagree that character depth was only created in one episode. I think certain characters received a few episodes of attention, but the majority of the show was on giving both Tanabe and Hachimaki their respective arcs where they grow to understand each other and the people around them. Both of them had very clear arcs. Tanabe goes from the rookie who doesn't know anything to an experienced and mature young woman. Hachimaki goes from his immature character who only dreams about a rich future to actually being completely serious about his goals to the point where he sacrifices everything else important to him. The other characters, I agree, didn't get as much attention, but I don't think they were integral to know about fully. They were mere personalities, there for flavor and effect, and for the amount of episodes we had, we knew enough about them.
Oh but the manager and his assistant guy with the high pitched voice were super annoying and almost ruined everything.
Would you rate Mushishi a 7 then? Ginko doesn't really have much character development outside of his backstory, nor do we ever learn about any of the other characters in the story ever again. I didn't like the following very much, but the same could be said about Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop, since characters like Mugen, Jin, Spike, and Jet don't really change or have any development whatsoever, but are heralded as some of the best characters in anime ever.

And still the characters in there are so much more interesting than in F/SN. |:

I think they are some of the best characters because while they do not change or have development, their backgrounds are explored. Instead of character development we get to know the reasons for their actions.

Eh. I mean there are only...six episodes in total, I think, talking about Spike's background and even less so for Jet and Valentine, and even then I'm not particularly intrigued by their backstories. A lot of the other episodes are just episodic, here's a villain, here's a drug dealer, here's a mafia dude, go get him, kind of ordeal without anything else going on.
It's fun, of course, and it's kind of cool, but just pointing that out.

Apart from the two main characters, it was pretty much everyone. It's one whole episode for their background and then nothing more. Don't have the anime on my HDD anymore, otherwise I would have named the episodes now -.-
Haven't watched Mushishi yet, still need to do so. Samurai Champloo got pretty much the same rating from me and I watched Cowboy Bebop just last month(low 8). I wouldn't call them "some of the best characters in anime ever" but they are fine. Or rather, it's about the show since it's straight to the point, if you know what I mean. It's "just do it". Edward is probably the best example. Joined when she wanted to, left when she wanted to. No endlessly dicking around and being "blabla". And the good thing is, you don't think they don't care. They do care but they have a strong will, so they do what has to be done/is the best for them. I also think this show was partly slice-of-life(it felt like that anyway) which contributed to the characters but took a toll on the plot. Well, the series is somewhat unique in the feeling it gives but since it wasn't particularly interesting, I rated it that way.
