The manga is something interesting (it was mildly interesting at the beginning and then it gets better since the mid chapters), something that is relatively original and i just need to emphasize again, it is interesting to read.
While this anime is a mere a product...for those future moe boat(girls) figures/merchandise....not necessary a bad thing but the anime could definitely be better. My verdict for this anime would be: I feel pity for the potential of this adaption. I guess it is worth a watch if you havent read the manga (already).
It looks like something that will have a follow up season in future but i am defo not watching that >_>

I heard Valvrave is really something else. rofl. i was intrigued.
Did you guys watch Haruhi Suzumiya according to the 'correct' sequence or just the way when it was showed on jap tv channel?
Haruhi is meant to be watched in broadcast order. Otherwise the pacing of the show is killed, and will "end" like halfway through.
Ya i thought so but the friend back then told me not to watch it while it was broadcasted and i trusted him and now i just wont bother to rewatch it lol.
And then those later same episodes with different angles directed that released in 2010 or something. jesus lol poor Yuki had to go through repetitively for 200000+ times again or something.

Poor guy. Well, at least you learned to not trust your friends, that's an important lesson at least.

On to why I am here today, does anyone read Beyond the Boundary light novel and know if the ending of the anime relates to the novel? I looked it up and it seem the novel wasnt that long and the ending of the anime felt rushed.
Eca will probably say the LN was just as garbage as the anime, only worth reading for S imouto, and stuff about sleep aids.
Only Ragz read it so I have no idea, but it isn't like Kyoani has ever given a fuck about the source of the things that they published from the publishing arm.
Sometimes it kind of works out like chuu2 w/ pillows and idol episode so they probably know what they are doing when they are just making up shit. If I have to bet the source is the nonsensical one. Or maybe glasses did die in source and Kyoani deus ex'd it. In that case I hate them.
White Album 2 was so good <3, best romance/drama anime I've watched. Maybe it was because I got a bit distracted watching Nana but I felt I should have cried with the ending , it was a really good episode. I felt it was gong to end that way, + Show Spoiler +
the best girl won in the end but she left anyway, I don't think Haruki took the "consolation" prize, Setsuna just felt like being there for him I suppose, she knew she lost a long time ago
I would have been happy with how the show ended last week to be honest, it was more or less the same thing, never crossed my mind everyone was going to stick around and live happily ever after. One thing though, why are they such fucking trolls putting the word "End" on the last 2 episodes, I felt so trolled last week, there better not be another hidden episode or something. I wouldn't mind a second season but if there is one thing SDF Macross taught me is that there is such a thing as too many episodes. Definitely my favorite drama after Kare Kano, somebody needs to animate the rest of Kare Kano QQ I want to see the play and Renji and Tsubasa getting married to Kazuma and Ying and Yang and all that (I could do without that creepy ending with Asaba though D: ).
I wasn't really thrown off by either of the endings, and it wasn't because I was spoiled, since I knew about certain things but I didn't know what exactly they meant. Now I under the tang thing more clearly though.
Um...overall I think NGE and EoE are pretty solid. Good writing, good direction, and overall had good focus and while its intent might be really polarizing I thought it was good. Up to episode 24 I was enjoying the show pretty well, even though it became clear that they were running out of money for like everything, and the last two episodes really didn't do much to do away with that enjoyment. It was kind of frustrating though to see the final two episodes to pretty much be only still images, weird drawings, and repeated animation, but eh.
I liked the story. There's a lot of times where I felt it was trying to be meaninglessly complex at times (or maybe it's just me) but I liked how the episodic element gave us a lot of different stories about the different components of Nerv and the lives of the pilots.
Characters were also pretty good. Rei was kind of an emotionless nothing...and was Gendo...but I liked a lot of the other characters or at the very least how they were written. That includes Shinji, Asuka, Misato, Dr. Akagi....Yeah Shinji's a big panzy but at the very least, I like how they supplied plenty of backstory to justify his behavior. It was only until EoE when Shinji was curled up in fetal position and Asuka was getting owned by the other Eva things that I really started to question wtf he was doing.
But whatever. I think his 26 + movie character arc was pretty good, so was Asuka's....I liked how Misato wasn't your typical mother figure and it was interesting seeing Dr. Akagi go full emo. lulzzzzz
Overall, good show. I had quite a few problems with it, but they weren't particularly glaring to me at least....

Ah thx so I guess it safe to assume that the Kyo Ani trolled everyone with an ending that doesnt make any sense because they are people who would do that then
I dont think studios make bad/anime original endings because they do it for the hell of it. I think its because they have to adhere to the strict 1cour/2cour scheduling. Tonari Kaibutsu avoided this, thankfully. But also makes me wonder if we'll ever get a S2 (I dont think we will)
Only type of genre that can avoid this, that Ive seen recently, are shounenesque time anime. Not really sure why. Is it because they sell product much better? Or because they can produce filler content much easily?
Anyways, I miss you Shear. Do you play Dota? Can I add you on Steam? =x

Sup Emjay,
Long time no see, I havent really been watching much anime for the past few months so I didnt think I had enough swag to hang with you cool kids. Now that I am more free, I have finally have time to catch up and I do play quiet a bit of dota. Add me here :D
So I finished watching eva last night. It was pretty interesting at the start with how the system synchronizes with the human and such and I figured they'll go through the idea of the hidden power which seems like a typical thing. + Show Spoiler +
More pilots, Rei and Asuka with totally different personalities and all the different angels, some with pretty interesting designs were a good addition and then the fourth being added was great as well since I felt the plot was moving forward and how will Shinji react to it and such but I feel it started to lose potential at that point or shortly after. Shinji being such a closed individual, running like a gazillion times and such was ok at first but got tiresome when it kept on happening. Asuka was great in her role but then once she got depressed, it would've made for a great team building episode but that never came to be. Rei's past and the fact that there are other vessels so the soul gets moved from one part to another was ok I guess and was also unexpected but her personality didn't change much aside from telling Shinji that she's glad he's good when he was in the hospital and crying at one point but not knowing the reason for it.
Then the dead sea scrolls and the whole angel idea. We were never told/shown etc... what was in the scrolls. There was only talk about this human instrumentality project and how it's unification of the soul but angels, their origin, reasoning for their attacks etc... were never explained which is something I was looking forward to. Are we supposed to assume they are being sent from God? I mean, the name angels and other religious references were because they were "interesting and exotic". Same with that last angel. I mean wtf, angels were killing them then the last one just gives up and asks Shinji to kill him to have humanity evolve and save it? what? what's with the change and why is the council or rather how is the council even contacting angels since they recruited him (maybe they didn't know? >.>)? The second impact didn't get much significance either. We were told it was a lie and that it was contact with Adam (blows up yet they still have corpse?). I feel they should've explored it more.
Then the last two episodes. What seemed to be a show building up the characters and show their fight for survival against the angels became so individualistic and the last two episodes were so painful to watch. It's like they went, hey, we don't know how to end, let's just say that after the last angel is killed, all our souls are unified then we can just ignore everything else and focus on 3-4 characters and say the main character's problems are fixed in the end. Came out of left field and I was not expecting to see characters being asked questions, almost like they were interrogated. Most of the questions/answers were stuff we already knew. While I understand the ending to some degree, I feel that it destroyed a chunk of the show for me. There never seemed to a link between the angels and human instrumentality project from what I watched. Seemed like they were separate from each other. Heck, we were never even told much about Eva aside from the fact that it was made from Adam or so. What about it working on it's own or when it sucked up Shinji? What about when it saved Shinji? What was the purpose of that? I guess I have some reading to do on this stuff. I kinda wish they worked out the other character's problems unless they did and I missed it because it was putting me to sleep ...
If I had to choose several words to describe this show: interesting, bizzare, psychological, spiritual(in some way) and disorganized(story telling). It's not bad per se but it's also missing something, I dunno what that is. Maybe better organization at the min. Would I recommend? I probably would but I would warn them that they may or may not like the ending. Watch at your own peril XD On a side note: 26 episodes in under a day, a new record XD
finished monogatari. Got to say I really liked the watch. Probably my new favorite and like I said last week I really thought it's even better than Bake. I don't really know what else to say. If I start typing it'll either be a wall of text or it won't properly get across what I liked about it in few words

About the angels: the First Ancestral Race created the seeds of life to spread life through the Milky Way. They were created in two varieties, Fruit of life (Adam and angels) and Fruit of knowledge (Lilith and humans).
However, of all the worlds across the galaxy which the First Ancestral Race seeded with life, Earth is unique in that two Seeds of Life accidentally landed on the same planet.
Two Seeds cannot co-exist on the same planet, possibly because the "forbidden union"(As stated in Episode 26') of an Adam-type and Lilith-type Seed would create a god-like being rivaling the power of the First Ancestral Race itself. Because of this, the only remaining Spear on the planet took the initiative to permanently subdue one of the Seeds: Adam. Lilith then spread the primordial ooze - Lilith's own blood, LCL - from which terrestrial life evolved over the course of billions of years, while Adam remained inactive until it was forcibly awoken by the Katsuragi Expedition, resulting in the Second Impact.
About the Evangelions: Unit 01 contains the soul of Shinji's mom, her body was disolved in the LCL during a contact experiment, and it's created from Lilith, not Adam.
And you are supposed to watch End of Evangelion now!

lol let's hope so XD It was quite the watch for sure but I would need to read a lot more to link and understand some more things. Definitely one of those animes that need a second or third watch through but I'd rather not do it right after just finishing it lol. hmm well, I'll watch it soon enough
hmm it makes a bit more sense the way you explained it. The angels wanted to release Adam so to speak and ya, I guess based on what you wrote, I can kinda see the direction of the show more now. It still feels like a pool of different ideas and I dunno but I feel that they could've done a better job explaining some things. I didn't realize his mom's soul was there but I do recall hearing unit 1 was different, that was it from Lilith and not from Adam(maybe read it somewhere). It would explain how it reacted when he called his mom that one time and other ones as well and how it seems unique to his unit and not the other evangelions. Thanks for the explanation!
Wonder if the whole sister stuff is actually real or he's just using that to get sympathy for his cause. Either way, glad to see that the princess didn't exactly act like a princess and has her own quarky personality lol.
So this is probably a very silly question. At the very end, they say how that was the "beginning of the Third Galactic Empire". What were the first two?

I'm not sure if they explored the first two in Valvrave. Maybe it was something in the first season that was mentioned in passing but I don't recall it at least.
