Well to be fair you dont have to be into sports anime for ippo. I cant stand sports anime for the most part either, aside from the odd baseball show that is actually interesting. I did. However, it kinda belongs in the game department imo (like Saki, for example). I liked Chihayafuru because I liked the characters and cared about if it went well for them or not, etc. I honestly don't give a shit about Karuta. I don't have anything against anime where characters compete in something (GuP, Saki, etc), but if I don't care about what they play I have to care about the characters (as Chihayafuru did). I'm also more of a fan of gambling-esque stuff (Kaiji, Akagi or more relevant to the sports discussion, One Outs) than >insert random sport here<. | ||
