I'm sad though since I've heard that the last hiatus was 1,5 years long. Damn. ![]()

Great manga that utilizes puzzle thinking and psychology by introducing different games; how the hell can the mangaka come up with everything though? It blows my mind but I guess that's why it's constantly on a hiatus... I'm sad though since I've heard that the last hiatus was 1,5 years long. Damn. ![]() Yeah I've been reading it (or rather waiting for chapters) for an eternity. The puzzles are kinda meh though a lot of it is accomplished merely by obscuring shit from the reader and randomly introduces deux ex machinas. Still fun I guess but hardly super intelligent...convoluted maybe but meh.

Well, if that's what people have heard or read (me included) it's not too odd if they state that. Then again, /a/ is not the most trustworthy of places, so it might be a myth as you said. *shrug*

Its not correct to take that as a sign he doesn't have some involvement with the rest of the show. After all, for him to write the last episode's script, he has to be involved with what gets there.

I don't even read the pages with the "puzzle stuff" anymore :D Like, in the last arc you had + Show Spoiler + entire pages covered in poker hands and scores. Super interesting stuff. I like this type of manga though.

"Gen Urobuchi explained on the official website that the message of the story is aimed towards those in their teens and 20s, who are either about to enter into society or recently have, and is meant to cheer them on and to encourage them that "going out into the world isn't scary". He also said that the feeling of this work will be different from others he's been involved with." So you shouldn't be expecting anything grimderp to begin with.

Super interesting stuff. I like this type of manga though. It's for sure fun to read the twists, even if they're a bit contrived. The best part about it, though, is that the characters feel quite developed, even the side characters and villains. I felt like in DN, which is a similar genre to me, you kind of had Light and L (then Near), and everyone else had pretty low amounts of development, even Misa. Also, if you like Liar Game check out Life is Money. Was a short series that has a similar feel.

As much as I saw it coming, this was still incredibly badass. Right now, as far as the popular manga are concerned, Beelzebub is most likely my favorite, or maybe tying with One Piece. Shit's going down, and is all around awesome.
