Just get all your stuff off of: http://www.nyaa.eu/ Pretty much a torrent for any anime out there and there's typically multiple sub-groups for each series. You can also check the IRC for it. You can even find Spanish/French/etc. subs too. Also, SRW is all about the mechs, definitely not the story... Fuck. Off. Do you realize that almost 99% of those sub groups take their subs from CR and just change them a bit? Most of the non-english subs are translated directly from CR subs. aers is dieing of laughter right now I guarantee it. Basically you're saying, hey 7$ a month is too expensive, I'm too busy going to McDonald's every day that I can't spare that much to support the only decent independent licensing company that the international anime community has ever seen, instead I will take the stolen content and use that instead. You can have absolutely NO defense to being that big of a fucking idiot. This is like, beyond the realm of comprehension to me that you could have that opinion.

I personally can't get excited at just the prospect of seeing them try to throw everything into one game. I'm sure there will be like scenarios in game that explain what you are going to do and stuff. I can't imagine there being a SRW that is completely without some sort of "plot" tying them together. But I can't help but get excited with its supposed to have like 50 series in it, and those are all already announced. Imagine if they put Evangelion in SRW again, and then repeat a scene like this, but much prettier:

They're all connected but disconnected enough that you don't have to watch any of them. DC is one of the most cliche series of all time though, and it's really, really bad IMO. If you want to watch a harem anime I can think of like 12 off the top of my head that are better. And not paying for something for cheap in a dieing industry from a company that goes out of it's way to make a cheap and high quality product and then directing people on HOW TO STEAL said product is fucking disgusting dude, no way around that. It's not like CR is made up of people that have involved in fansubbing for almost 20 years or anything. It's not like they leave their subs to be easily daemoned so that foreign groups can easily grab them and sub them. They're not fucking EA or some hollywood bollocks, it's a nice company and one of the very few made up of people who just love the scene and do everything they can to make foreign fans happy. Fucking disgusting man.

Robots are obviously still a huge draw, but good plot composition can always help a game.

One of my favorite moments is one of the later missions in SRW Z, where you have the Requiem from Gundam SEED and D.O.M.E. from Gundam X, and then in the end you get to see some of the most illustrious heroes in mecha anime witnessing the Black History. It's like a triple climax. Robots are obviously still a huge draw, but good plot composition can always help a game. Shin Getter one-shoting Eva Unit 3, which then makes Berserk Eva Unit 1 shit its pants, is probably one of my favorites. Just for the combined fanboy and anti-fanboy in me.

If it was possible to get it cheaply I would, but that's not possible. Before anyone jumps down my throat, I buy what I can get, which includes importing manga or LNs when I can.

There is a good selection, but it's.. essentially like netflix. It has lots of things except a couple of things you really want to see. Yeah see that's fine. The other guy was just being such scumbag it pissed me off.

Usually with free things, like some starcraft event or something, they'll have advertisers and your addition to the view count does genuinely matter. With torrenting there's none of that. Even if it gives some guy somewhere a warm feeling that his anime was appreciated enough to be torrented over 10000 times as far as money goes for new seasons and things you're of no value. Also isn't it awkward when you search for a DVD/Blu-ray and the first thing that comes up is a hugging pillow.

Does everybody here buy everything they watch? I find hating on some guy because he uses nyaa.eu or IRC a bit extreme. Guys, it's quite hard to watch shit otherwise...

I'll buy the stuff I really like, which is no different than say, buying a TV series that I enjoyed. CR is nice, and the library is getting better each year in terms of quantity (imo). but afaik, all hulu is US only, so you just need to use a US proxy / VPN to watch it.

Obviously you can't get all anime legitimately, but when you can it will support anime a little bit. Did not know about hulu restricting access to those outside the US though. It's a bit of a pain. And you've hit it spot on really. If you can support what you like, you should. That's all there is to it really. Not sure if this is the right place to ask too, but does anyone know when the next Hidamari Sketch manga is coming out? At least I assume it'll be out before the OVA that's planned.
