moe characters dont fit in PP world and i think it is intended to be that way. I quite like that the PP characters are quite 'realistic' (ya...i know talking realistic in anime sounds retarded) and all the female characters look good enough to me Q_Q

Bakabt is a public tracker, so I don't think they will ban you for a low ratio. I always try and seed something up to a ratio of at least 1.0, but I know a ton of people who don't and no one who has gotten banned.

Okay, since I'm a huge Makoto Shinkai fan, I'm going to go on a rant regarding his new film which may or may not be relevant to viewers of this thread. I've read a handful of other threads on it, however, and they all piss me off as they can be summarized as "it's the same as his other movies," especially the comments about unrequited love. These comments have both negative and positive connotations but the point is they all lack appreciation for what his films are meant to communicate. Sure, Shinkai's films all center around love and its failure, but they have very distinct themes. I am also not being biased toward Shinkai films as I did rant a little about his last film Hoshi wo ou Kodomo, and consider it quite the failure. I am not familiar with all his works, but the three that stand out, in my opinion, are 5 cm/s, Voices of a Distance Star, and The Place Promised in Our Early Days, with the last one being the weakest and 5 cm/s being his masterpiece.
These three films are all forms of different romantic love and how it can be broken by distance. I already wrote a giant post about 5 cm/s being about naive love. It is a type of love that is broken by distance of the heart. Voices of a Distance Star is not unrequited love in the slightest. Rather, it is pre-established love that is broken by physical distance of the body. I'm not much of a fan of The Place Promised in Our Early Days, but I can see it as a love broken by distance of the mind. Not one of these is "the same theme" as the others, even if the overarching idea can be seen as the same and they certainly aren't about unrequited love. While 5 cm/s had unrequited love, it was used as a supporting role in the greater scheme of naive love and distance of the heart. In all three films, you see love that *could have been* but failed due to some form of distance. I suppose I personally would like to see a 4th film on distance of the soul and explore some spiritual themes that sometimes play a role in romantic relationships, but I don't think Shinkai would do that. Each of these films is meant to explore the painful effects of distance on love and resonate with whoever has experienced those same feelings. This is why opinions on his films can be so different because different people experience different levels of empathy based on their own personal values, thoughts, and pasts.
However, this new film Kotonoha no Niwa is very different from his previous films. To quote the description which made me fall in love with it,
At the time, "love" was written as "lonely sadness" (koi). Moreover, according to Shinkai, the modern concept of "love" (ai) was imported from the West. While his new Kotonoha no Niwa film is set in the modern era, it will be about "koi" in the original "lonely sadness" meaning — of longing for someone in solitude, as opposed to the modern meaning."
Love in the sense of lonely sadness is something completely void of romantic love. People, humans, by nature crave companionship and relationships, be it in the form of friends, family, or lovers. When someone lacks a single person to connect with, this is the origin of lonely sadness. This does not necessarily mean someone has no friends or family or even a lover. It simply means there is not a single person in their life with whom they can truly connect with on an emotional level. This lack of connection creates a powerful yet invisible isolation and solitude between a person and the rest of the world.
It is when such a person finally meets another that they can connect with that love, originating from lonely sadness, is born. It is a love which holds no romantic feelings, though one may certainly misinterpret it as such. It is the love of finally finding another who can accept you and understand you and communicate with you things no one else prior could do before. This, in essence, is love of lonely sadness. While it may eventually lead to or be correlated to romantic feelings of love, it is, by itself, completely void of it. It is the longing for a companion and a relationship with another from the very depths of your heart and soul. This is love in its purest and oldest form.
My personal hypothesis on the film is that the female lead will be the one with this kind of love and the male, being young, will not. Through their meetings, the female will develop the aforementioned love for the guy while the guy is either going to friendzone her or develop romantic feelings for her. The girl, in turn, will struggle with her own feelings as to whether she does have romantic feelings toward him or not. Since this is Shinkai, it'll end in sadness and suffering. Some drama will happen, they'll stop seeing each other, and the girl will fondly remember him in the future as the first person she truly loved. Or at least that's one way I envision it. For all I know, Shinkai will fail me hard. I'll probably end up writing a praise/rant post after I see it either way.
