If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

For currently airing anime, please see Anichart.net

Was a great film! Don't know if it was that big or not but it was put onto the english movie channel this weekend, and i watched it last night! Was a great film, and awesome visuals xD

It is old though, was released in Japan in 2009 xD

Try The Girl Who Leapt Through Time if you liked Summer wars. Mamoru has some pretty fun films

Having seen both these movies and loved them, any more recommendations? Especially Summer Wars I liked, such a fun movie.

Eden of the East and Tsuritama is what is all i can think of off hand kind similar in style/

Eden of the East I've already seen.Tsuritama not yet, so thanks for the suggestion!

Never listen to Emnjay. Ever. No exceptions.

1. If you want airing order, watch first season, and then episodes 1, 2, 9-14 from the second series (the ones in bold) http://myanimelist.net/anime/4382/Suzumiya_Haruhi_no_Yuuutsu_(2009)/moreinfo

Then watch the movie.

2. If you want chronological order, just watch everything listed here http://myanimelist.net/anime/4382/Suzumiya_Haruhi_no_Yuuutsu_(2009)/moreinfo
once again, skip #3-8. Hell you can even skip #2.

Then watch the movie.

Chronological order may feel weird in terms of pacing, but that's cause the show aired in a non-chronological order. For most sense, I think chronological order would help, for best experience, the airing order (1) is often the best choice.

It's known as "The Endless Eight". Um. Explaining why would spoil the story. You're welcome to watch all of them and find out though. But after watching Ep 2 and then maybe the first 5 min of Ep 3 you'll figure out why. That's probably the best way to do it to get a feel for what it is without spoiling the story.

Ofc you can be a real trooper and watch all of them like a lot of us did.

Endless Eight. You can google it, but basically it's 1 episode over and over (with little differences). It's intentional, but many found it boring

If you take a look at the link, you'll notice episodes 2-9 have the exact same titles (not even differentiated with Roman numerals like the other arcs). It's definitely a sign of what to expect, also given the first word of that title. Anything more is probably spoilers.

Yar, and KyoAni got a lot of shit, a lot of laughs, and actually a lot of appreciation for what they decided to do. For what it's worth, they went through the trouble of reanimating and redubbing everything, and what have you, for every single episode.

But seriously, while some people liked it and while some people just laughed at the people who raged, there was a LOT of rage.

People have made stuff like (look at it after you've gone through the first two and part of the third, I suppose):

If I remember correctly, you definitely want to watch at least the first two episodes of the Endless Eight. Watching only the first one leaves some stuff out, I think.

I did, the actual eps were fine but was eager to move forward also.

BTW, watching Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari, somehow it took me until ep12 to realize that each ep is 45 min long...

I don't watch anime regularly but from time to time i like to watch some of the recommended stuff.

I just started Cowboby Bepop and after the first few episodes i'm not really hooked up. A lot of people seems to think that it's a must watch so i'm a little bit confused, maybe it's just not my style.

To give you and idea of what i liked, Death Note, Evangelion and Full Metal Brotherhood were great. I recently watched Ergo Proxy and Claymore and i thought it was decent too.

Cowboy Bebop has a lot of unconnected episodes and takes awhile to get going. At least watch the first five; if you aren't digging the style by then, you should probably drop it. For what it's worth, Bebop is one of my favorite animes and I also loved Death Note, Eva, and FMA.
Of course, you only live one life, and you make all your mistakes, and learn what not to do, and that’s the end of you.
