Hello, I'm trying to look up some stuff I've watched when I was a child but have trouble finding, so I thought I ask anime buffs here. I don't remember the titles but I do remember the scenes:
1. Series: (High school?) girls are rumored to have disappeared in some Japanese city when they take the subway. We have our brooding female protagonist (in the usual school uniform) who investigates the incident with her partner (some tall masked man in a costume?).
While riding the subway by themselves they come across the villain who was kidnapping the girls by lying to them that they could become models. They fight and she chases the villain through underground passages and comes across a room to find all the missing girls frozen like mannequins, their whimpering cries heard. Protagonist confronts the villain and in the ensuing fight one of the mannequins get decapitated. Villain dies, girl says to partner there's nothing they could do ("These girls have chosen their own fates") and they both depart, leaving the victims behind. You still hear the mannequins crying, even the one with the head chopped off and lying on the floor.
In a later scene the girl runs into 2 or 3? of her classmates (the partner tells her earlier she shouldn't get involved with them). As they part ways, the girl says to herself "She called me...her friend..." and smiles. End of episode.
2. Movie: All the people of the village have been "petrified" (at least that's the best way I can describe it) by some evil wizard. In comes our protagonist (Guy 1) and his friend (Guy 2). They are in a forest and they come across a barrier that's has Guy 2's girlfriend/wife trapped inside. They try to break the barrier, their efforts futile. They hear a bell gong in a distance and the outer ring of the floor inside the barrier collapses into a bottomless pit below. Any time the bell rings once the next outer ring collapses and so forth until the center falls and the girl dies.
They run towards the church where the bell was to prevent it from ringing and confront the evil wizard. Guy 1 charges his fireball in a Dragonball-esqe style by putting his arms out in front of him, though the fireball itself discharges like lightning. The attacks are useless and the wizard easily defeats the two. The wizard sadistically makes the bell ring incessantly (most likely killing the girl) and "petrifies" Guy 2. Guy 1 charges one more fireball in his battered state but it misses as the wizard laughs and fades away.
I know this movie has at least a sequel or prequel, and maybe even a third one as well.
3. Series (1st episode): Reserved female protagonist (Girl 1) going to school, the usual day. She has a bold classmate (Girl 2) who is more adventurous, but is somewhat of an outcast. They aren't friends, not yet anyway. Then we get some supernatural thing happening at night where beings from another world has arrived in Japan.
Two beings, let's called them Shiva and Ifrit, because that's who they remind me of (though the Ifrit guy has a tiger face I think), meet Girl 1 and tells her she's chosen or something, and she needs to go to the world they come from. I think a battle happened somewhere along the lines and Girl 2 gets involved. Girl 1 is hesitant about going to the other world but Girl 2, fed up with the bore that is everyday life, insists. Shiva and Ifrit tells Girl 2 she can't go cause she isn't the chosen one but something happened and the episode ends with them getting sucked into a portal or something and they fall to the new world slowly with Girl 2's eyes beaming with awe.
4. Bonus: This is a tokusatsu, not an anime, but I thought I include it here as well if anybody has seen it. We have one female heroine with some battle capabilities, one cyborg, a bunch of bad guys, and two regular guys who support the heroine (Guy 1 and Guy 2), sometimes there for comic relief. Cyborg goes haywire and in one scene murders all the bad guys of both opposing factions with machine guns and swords or something and starts targeting anything that's alive. Everyone tries to leave the area but Guy 1 and Guy 2 runs into an invisible barrier and they realized they are all trapped in with the murderous cyborg. As everyone is trying to bide their time in this site of execution, something much more monstrous is arising behind the scenes…
Sorry if some of these sound ambiguous, the descriptions probably overlap other series (especially 3). I know 1, 2 and 4 are pretty old, 3 is relatively newer. If anybody could tell me the titles of these, it would be VERY MUCH appreciated!

Your third anime is called The Twelve Kingdoms, and it is one of the saddest anime/novels of all time because it is unfinished and never will be finished. I will think of the other two eventually.

Anime of the decade confirmed. If SHAFT don't fuck this up they are gods. I'm so glad their animation didn't ruin it for me so far, cos it's by far the show I was most hyped for.

Just listened to Sword Art Online in 2 shot...
I dont understand all the hate that anime get... It was less good in the 2nd half but it wasnt bad. first part was like 9/10 and 2nd part was like 7/10...
I understand that for some people they didnt like the filler at the start but i though it was setting the world of the anime nicely. I can understand too that some people wanted action action action and there's a big part of romance right in the middle but... wtf.
on MAL all the highest review give notes of like 3-5/10... this anime clearly deserve a 8-9/10.... no ?

I think giving it a 4 is being kind, only because the second half was at least funny with Sugou. Whoever directed SAO had no idea how to make anime, and somehow took source material that was questionable at best and made it even worse.

Though if you are really curious about the bad reputation it has, you can just search through this thread for the past SAO discussions that should've covered both anime and LNs.
That said, a lot of the hate for it is also because it is a mainstream show, the MAL scores are probably really bipolar between the mainstream and those who want to be hipster.

Is it bad if the first time I heard of SAO was due to dramatic readings by certain people of a certain 16.5?

Just so I can be hipster, I'd like everyone to know I hated it before y'all even heard of it.

Never watched it, probably isn't a great show/something I'd like, but it probably doesn't deserve the amount of vitriol that's frequently flung in its direction by people here - few shows do.
