I'd hate on DC or ToHeart more if only they aren't the cash cows that leads to the studio producing other games, unfortunately lately they've only been turning out crap with that money qq

ITS THE WORST ANIME http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Outlaw-&show=0&order=4 Also. Asking people for opinions on a show that you haven't watched yet is pretty shitty. Either you go in expecting it's bad and having negative thoughts or your expectations are high which will 100% make the show less enjoyable for you.

10/10 would never watch again + Show Spoiler + Single-handedly changed me from a depressed pathetic fuck to a person who can accept himself, strive for the best and enjoy life. On January 07 2013 11:08 XenOmega wrote: Hmm, I agree with you, but so far, going with most of the animes recommended or highly praised on this thread has been very successful We can always point you to anime that has been generally accepted as good but for you to develop taste and critical thinking you should watch all shows (bad and good) and judge them personally. Basically shows that you read the synopsis for, find interesting, then judge them for what they are and how you enjoyed them, regardless of their ranking or popularity. I truly feel like that is the best way to consume this medium. People will often laugh at ''new'' people for liking shows like naruto, SAO, death note or code geass, but the truth is, there is nothing wrong with liking them. Just like what you like and never stop believing in yourself.

The show itself is fine overall, but perfect? There wasn't a single part you didn't like?

It's a mix of its sheer amazingness (''epicness" if you will), amazing music, good characters, amazing high points and the theme (disregard what people think, do the impossible, mental power, believe in yourself + aim for the heavens etc.) that I probably didn't even see any flaws. I watched it in 2 sittings (perfectly divided into the 2 major arcs), which is probably the best way to watch it. You watch episode after episode feeling the emotional high and riding the momentum only for the next episode to be even more awesome. I'm using the word awesome a lot which must make me sound immature but that's just how it is. It wiped (at the time) the floor with anything else that I've ever watched not only for personal reasons as I have stated but also for the fact that it was just so enjoyable. I cried multiple times (at both sad and happy moments) I haven't rewatched it yet and I never will. There are probably some flaws that I would see now because that's how it is with these types of shows. As it stands, I want to keep the memory of witnessing something so amazing in my mind forever. I gave TTGL an 8 or something, so don't think I dislike the show or something like that, but in the creativity department TTGL is definitely lacking. That isn't saying that you can't enjoy a show that isn't creative, but I can't exactly say its "perfect" when alot of the themes and execution within have been done before, many times. Like, you know how when you watch something you think is really cool/funny a second or third time, and that initial feeling sorta wears off? Thats how it sorta is for me. The main difference with TTGL is that it has Gainex's budget behind them, which makes it look alot better than many of its predecessors.

I wonder if this is one of the few times when recommending School Days might be appropriate? Okay I will take a look. I'm currently watching Ghost Hunt, and it's kinda interesting right now, so i'll probably finish it up. Shiki. Mirai Nikki. I've seen Mirai Nikki, and it was good, but the last few episodes kinda ruined it for me. The premise in general was amazing, but then everything went downhill after like episode 20. And I will checkout Shiki! Looks like what I'm in the mood for!

The main difference with TTGL is that it has Gainex's budget behind them, which makes it look alot better than many of its predecessors. + Show Spoiler + Maybe it's because I haven't watched as many shows as you, or maybe because I've done big breaks between my anime ''sessions'', or maybe I'm just different that way, but I don't (or at least didn't when I was watching it) care much for creativity. I have read/watched the big three shonen series and some more, yet I still didn't care for the fact that ''believe in yourself'' was something used every shonen basically. Execution is what I care about the most, and it was executed marvelously. Also, unlike you, I haven't seen any noteworthy mecha before. I can think of Code Geass. So that made the show even more interesting for me. At the end of the day, it was just a show that I enjoyed a lot and one that brought me out of depression and made me appreciate life. This is really just digging my sub-conscious, though. I didn't judge the show once. I only thought about how fucking great it was and about my life. The raw emotion that it awakened (I hadn't felt anything in a long time, so it was a big shock) was enough to blow everything away, and post-watch, even after my emotions had ended, I deemed the show solid because of how good the themes were. If you gave it an 8, I give it +1 for not watching as many shows (thus not caring about creativity) and being new to mecha and +1 for the personal reasons.
