Thats what i'm hearing, it really makes me want to watch the show right now. There just might be potential. I really hope so, like i said before the second PV looked good so i'm hoping thats more how it turns out.

commies are the best, Horrible subs is decent enough but the font is irritating and yellow. They are up by tuesday.

It sucks people are just going to not watch it because of character design. Character design needs to be like Madoka or K-On in order to be watchable, I guess.

AGE's first episode is a 0079 type, rather than a Zeta or Wing type. Most Gundam shows tend to have good first episodes anyway (other than Zeta and ZZ lol), so its hard to say what its better than.

I'm glad that it didn't bomb like we were expecting. hopefully its something that will be fun to watch. I can't get past the character design as long as the story is good.

First episode definitely did hearken back to Amuro being a mad nerd-engineer baller, getting escorted to reality by a childhood lady-friend, and manning Gundam to defend his colony. A first episode that follows the model of one of those shows. 0079 has the colony come under attack, and the MC gets into the Gundam to drive them off, like 0079, SEED, or Unicorn. The more I think about it Zeta's start really isn't repeated THAT much in other shows, other than Gundam-jacking. Wing type would be like Wing or 00. Not every Gundam show follows these formulas (G and Turn A are big examples), but those types are the most common episode 1s for Gundam shows.
Edit: The UE are unknown, and in episode 1 + Show Spoiler +they killed their own to hid their identity. That pretty much confirms they are humans from Jupiter who are really pissed off. You heard it first here.

+ Show Spoiler [gundam age] + Kind of surprised how they've fought these UE guys for 14 years, and they have yet to even identify them. Being at such a disadvantage (tech wise too, since those GENOACE's don't even scratch the armour) for so long while not straight up dying to them. The enemy sounds like they're pretty small in number, since only 3-4 attacked the colony. Maybe it's something like reverse Wing setup, where low numbers of powerful bad guys just walk around and own shit up. Would also explain why human's haven't completely lost yet.
