In Muv-Luv Alternative, the aliens they fight are called the "BETA". They are basically bug-like aliens, similar to the Zerg, in that they fight with a huge swarm of units. The difference being that the BETA completely lack air-power. From my knowledge, the Ultralisk, the largest ground unit of the Zerg, isn't even larger than the Grappler Class BETA, and there are an thousands of those in a single Hive, not to mention the other classes. IDK how big Colossi are, or how big a Thor is, but if an Ultralisk is small compared to BETA, wouldn't these be as well? I'm thinking maybe only Protoss and Terran would be able to stand up to them, and that's due to their fleets and nuclear weapons. | ||

Anyway, I think Vikings are rather small for mechs, but Thors might be TSF size. Thors probably have the right weapons to deal with the larger BETA as well, it would probably be a mobility issue with. Also, rate of fire, considering the sheer number that BETA attack with. I think Siege Tanks, and probably most Protoss Weapons, would be able to kill them, but alot of the BETA are like "imagine that the Zerg that demolished most of your races were 3x as big. Have fun." Protoss and Terran have problems dealing with the number of Zergs, and they are comparatively small. BETA were never shown to have any "detector" like unit, but then there isn't optical stealth in Muv-Luv. But, I'm not sure how well Ghosts and their nukes would do. The Soviets and Chinese in Muv-Luv used tons of tactical nuclear strikes against the BETA, using Scorched Earth tactics, but eventually they were just wiped out. America used their big nukes vs the BETA when they came down in Canada, and they got rid of them there, at the expense of Canada being a nuclear wasteland. So with Ghosts, their Nukes might not be enough, and the silos for their nukes would risk being overrun. Terran could use those nukes they used on Korhal in the lore, if they don't mind turning whatever world they are used on into a wasteland. Similarly, the Protoss could just glass the planet over, but they probably wouldn't care too much. | ||

Not like gameplay is designed to try and be balanced, or anything. I guess if we are going with gameplay logic, either marines are the size of houses, or things like Battlecruisers are actually incredibly small. Oh yeah, and Protoss Carriers aren't that much bigger than a few Vikings, and can't even handle a few fights. Nah, fuck their logical, realistic strength in terms of the lore. 16 meter tall BETA would easily be stopped in their tracks from a single shot from a Marauder's shotgun. | ||
