If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

For currently airing anime, please see Anichart.net

The storyline is mind blowing, carefully constructed, artfully crafted and dramatically presented. Puzzles and pieces fall into a circle of fate, chances, probabilities, and random encounters. The thrilling excitement can top/equal to death note at its prime.

Not only that, it's nice to have a main character with such overwhelming personality and unique character (or extremely weird.) I also enjoy all the little romance that's flowing in the air, there's a beautiful side to all of this.

You obviously didn't watch Hidan no Aria

You obviously forgot about Shana 3 airing this fall.

And don't forget that the Kampfer OVA came out this year too.

Why isn't there a manga discussion thread? Does this anime thread include manga?

Please don't hit me for that question!

This thread does include manga, visual novels, and anything else...otaku...or moe related.

So you're saying Steins; Gate is better than Puella Magi Madoka Magica? O_o

Easily.

Yeah, Steins;Gate is easily my favorite anime since Madoka, and for me it might even take out Madoka depending on how well they do the rest of the eps.

Close 3rd is Hanasaku Iroha, it may be boring at some parts but its a pretty awesome SoL imo.

This season doesn't seem to have any super-epic animes, but Mayo Chiki is decent, and so far Yuruyuri is good for the lulz.

Then Kamisama no Memochou is completely awesome :D. Like a Gosick/Dantalian no Shoka without the bad parts

Really lookin forward to Working!! 2 and Ika Musume 2 next season :D

You guys are all crazy, the best anime in the past year was easily Super Robot Wars OG: The Inspector, if you don't count Gundam Unicorn.

Also, Southlight gave that show a 9/10 so it must be godly.

You over rate any mech anime lol. You such an unreliable source when it comes to anything mech related. But for once, I agree with you. Super Robot Wars OG is teh best, if you dont count Gundam Unicorn.

I don't overrate anything, unless you happen to believe that whatever your views on anime rating are objectively correct and any opposing view is wrong. I have my views and tastes, and rate things accordingly. There isn't anything "overrated" or not when it comes to personal opinion. Also, I'm not an "unreliable source" seeing that I've seen more mecha anime than anyone in this thread, except Kaal lol

But yeah, honestly, there hasn't been anything this past year that even comes close to how much I enjoyed OGIN.

Anime of today is objectively better than old anime. Better animation, better voiceacting, better writing.

You haven't seen much anime have you... Or maybe you're just trolling, I'm not sure. It's pretty evident that a lot of studios started focusing on quick selling shows around 2005... Sloppy remakes of manga, simple slapstick or pure fanservice. I even stopped following new anime because after watching so much shit every season you grow disappointed...

That is the inevitable fate of anything that becomes popular - it caters to the masses.
However, 100% of anime studios that existed before 2005 are now better because they know more now.
How can you give up on anime of today when there is things like manyuu hikenchou that is the greatest anime ever created?

Fixed.

I don't see the connection. SRW OGIN was legit good for SRW fans (although I can understand non-fans not liking it). Seems like whatever that anime is, people are just trolling about.

LOL! NO WAY....I watch Seed but I couldnt do Destiny....It was just too much. Gundam Seed and Destiny didnt have that good of mech battle anyways. Seed was OK at best but Destiny....is....lawlz.

edit: Hmm it seems the rating is pointed toward every gundam series in general. So I guess it understandable on how it got to such a high rating though.

ZZ Gundam's review on IMDB:
Takes place after the Original Gundam with Amoro and Zeta Gundam, this series is pretty good. The animation is not as outdated as original Gundam, and its pretty the same storyline, however with eacn new Gundam series, the characters are alot more mature, and success of the series has given Bandai ability to show more violence and special effects to epic.

Fixed.

I think you need to be reminded of how Manyuu hikenchou has touch our heart this year and will never be forgotten. Hope the picture will remind you of the feeling you once lost. Thx Gao Xi for reminding me for my love of Manyuu Hikenchou.

I don't even know what the hell that show is lol

I don't see the connection. SRW OGIN was legit good for SRW fans (although I can understand non-fans not liking it). Seems like whatever that anime is, people are just trolling about.

Edit: This is by far the funniest thing I've ever seen in a while:
