Does anyone want to name any (with English translations obv) that are good? I'm not done with Clannad but that's really all I knew at this point. Here are my favorite VNs, in order of how much I liked them: MuvLuv: It seriously is a very good VN. MuvLuv Extra is like your generic highschool romantic comedy, which basically introduces the characters (kinda). Then you go to MuvLuv Unlimited, which introduces the REAL setting (kinda). You have probably heard me talk about the setting before, but basically the Harem Main Character from MuvLuv Extra wakes up in an alternate reality one day, where most of the population is dead, and Humanity is fighting a losing war against the invading alien BETA. MuvLuv Alternative is where things get reallllyyy good. The contrast and changes the main character goes through between Extra and Alternative are really good, not to mention the setting is really cool IMO. Very high production value for a VN too. Ever17: This VN isn't mecha omg. Its actually kinda hard to describe its actual genre, maybe someone else can. But the premise is a group of people are stranded in an underwater facility, and they have to escape before everything dies. The last route, Coco's Route, is AMAZING, your mind will be blown, and bricks will be shat. Fate/Stay Night: Kinda hard to decide if I like FSN more than Tsukihime. Anyway, FSN is one of the big VNs that everyone should read. The routes are decent length, the story is pretty good, and various characters inspire fanboys around the world. You probably have heard of it, IDK if you have read it. Its much better than the anime and movie. MUCH better. Tsukihime: Another popular VN that everyone should read. Lots of good characters, although this is sometimes counter acted by a character everyone hates (Curry), and some boring ass shit routes like Curry's Route or Hisui's Route. However, the routes that aren't those 2 make up for it, and it is really good. Hmmmm
My favorites are Aiyoku no Eustia: http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?id=219962 Clannad: Standard Key work Air: Standard Key work Kannon: Key Work Little Busters!: Key Work Planetarian: Key Work Sono Hanabira series: Great yuri series Duel Savior: Old but good gameplay, Story isn't that good though Shinken Series: Eien no Aselia, Seinarukana These are like J-RPG pretty much, very fun. And good story.
Akabesoft2 series: G-String and Sharin no Kuni are very very good as well. Great stories.

So how would one go about reading a VN? Obviously, I have to go dl it somewhere, so what would be the best sites for that? And since I know zero Japanese, I would be limited to the ones that are translated right? Oh god, I hope I don't get into VNs (mainly because of how it's even more time consuming than anime) but I would be willing to try out the best ones.

Kamisama Dolls, Croisee, Natsume Yuujinchou San, Sacred Seven, and Kamisama no Memo.
So far I've only watched EP1 of Sacred Seven and Kamisama no Memo.
Sacred Seven wasn't really that great, but it wasn't horrible to the point where I'd drop it from the first EP. Not a huge fan of the main characters little outfits when he goes into his berserk like mode and the characters don't seem that engaging.
Kamisama no Memo and the other hand was pretty enjoyable. The main guy isn't all that great. It feels like a much better GoSick based on the first EP (which was a 47min double). It's GoSick in the fact that Alice (also a loli) is a detective as with Victorique in GoSick, but the art and back drops are much nicer. I'll probably get through a few more tonight if I'm not doing anything else.

Her name is supposed to be Kurisu but Kyouma adds in "tina" and then it becomes akin to "Kuristina" aka Christina. She's definitely my favorite character of the series

Is that unless it is really really really good, i tend to forget it quickly. Like 1 week between each episode lets me "savor" it and really think about it. I think it is especially important for SG, since its sorta that type of "thinking anime". Since I marathoned it, i have to let it sink in, the epicality of what i just watched. lolol

I can name a ton of anime that I've seen but I won't be able to tell you anything aside from a fairly obvious plot summary about them. Maybe a few key scenes that stuck with me, but for the most part, I won't retain the memories (good or bad) compared to watching a show as it airs. I think this is the same reason why cramming is not as effective as studying over time lol.

VNs ? I highly recommend Umineko No Naku Koro Ni. It's pretty long (8 episodes, and each can easily take up to 10-15 hours, especially if you start theorizing about everything), and incredibly awesome, especially if you like mystery. It starts pretty slowly, the first episode really being a big big introduction to the situation the characters are in, but starting at the second episode, it becomes incredibly eventful. There was an anime a couple of years ago, and it roughly covered the first 4 episodes, but it was FAR (REALLY FAR) from the depth and great general environment of the VN. On top of the story and the depth of the characters, what I really love about Umineko is the music. There are dozens of tracks and a great majority of them are awesome and extremely fitting to what is happening. Seriously, if you're bored or something, go read Umineko. It's almost fully translated in English as well, but the last episode will also be finished pretty quickly from what I understand. :o

Though i've never played the VN

There is a reason you think like that, because they are both a part of the Why They Cry series by 07th Expansion.
Anyhow, I agree w/ tyr. Read Umineko, almost all translated and infinitely more epic in text than in anime form. Ep3 and 4 got so completely butchered by the lack of time to do them with.

I thought Natsume Yuujinchou San was completely boring and I could see myself dropping it very soon.
Kamisama Dolls on the other hand kept me quite interested throughout. The lead seems to be a bit of a little shit, but even so I remain interested.

I maintain my stance that people should be weary of KamiDoll, because the manga is ongoing and I can't see the anime ending well. Main character has reasons, by the way.
Also, the mangaka blows at endings, so that's another problem.

Well, of the shows I've watched thus far it's the most promising. I've been disappointed so many times by animes with ongoing mangas that I have just learned to live with it and sometimes, you know, they actually do all right.
