its almost certainly a string type ability thats only fit for controlling fodder
he didnt control Jozu though he was just able to stop him from pressing forward which was really a stalemate becuase Doflamingo probably couldnt be doing much else and keep jozu immobilized

Yes Jozu who was number three Captain member of Whitebeard that Ace was number two and the son of Gol D Roger, the pirate king. No Don Flomingo is a real threat, he cut off the leg of Oz descendant, and for Luffy to take out Oz he needed to take the power of 1 000 shadows to take him out, for Don Flamingo to cut off his leg like it was a stroll in the park.
Don Flomingo is not a nobody when his subordinate can fight toe to toe with Franky, a 100 million pirate at the new age by my guess, and has been foreshadowed as being a 340 000 000 pirate, which is equal to Luffy before or after the time skip and is based in the New World.

He is nowhere near a fodder lol. Currently,Jozu has shown the greatest feat in terms of strength in OP universe.
He is one of the top-tier fighters FYI. I bet he could even beat Luffy and Zoro 1v2 anyday.
Also, considering how easily Flamingo stopped the insanely strong Jozu so damn effortlessly. I am pretty sure Flamingo is scary as hell. Not to mention DD was just messing around during the war.

Well, Oz was a Zombie, while Oz Jr. or w/e wasn't. Zombies can take alot more damage than not-Zombies can. Oz Jr. probably couldn't have taken the beating the Strawhat Crew (minus Luffy) gave Oz, and kept going like Oz did.
DD's obviously the New World's version of Crocodile. Multi island spanning criminal empire? Tons of devil fruit having subordinates? Warlord with op devil fruit?
If it's anything similar to that, he'll be stronger than Luffy at first but Luffy will shonen hero himself to victory in a rematch.
That said, I don't think it'll just be as easy as taking control of Luffy the same way he did Jozu. Who knows, maybe when he tries to pull Luffy's strings to make him move, he'll just use his stretchiness to give way too much slack for DD to pull and really control. That and Haki can, presumably, defend against paramecia effects that alter you ala Vergo being able to resist Law to an extent (atleast, in the past he was, or DD wouldn't have been so confident in Law being unable to use his power on him).

In the bottom left frame, they're in the position he uses when he uses his DF. Then go and check out the top left frame. His flying is not in a straight line. You can see that his trail peaks and dips, like he's swinging from his strings. So he's probably swinging from the clouds or even sky islands.
As for Monet: http://www.manga-access.com/manga/O/One_Piece/chapter/694/15 The shard doesn't completely penetrate her heart, so I'm thinking she can survive it, though she will be incapacitated for awhile. I was hoping and thinking she'd join Law's crew, but it seems pretty unlikely now.
DoFlamingo as the young master. Not sure, but there's a decent chance he's a tenryubito or some sort of nobility. Will be really interesting to see what happens when he shows up. He seems quite overpowered and I can't even guess what will happen next.
The chance of Sabo actually being dead seems very unlikely (despite the 4th databook). The manga was a little mysterious about it, but the anime was pretty explicit in that Dragon saved a child and that child is almost definitely Sabo. Perhaps he has amnesia and is now going by a different name, hence "Sabo" is dead and it would explain why he never came back for Ace/Luffy.
Also, any bets on Dragon's powers? I'm going with him having the DF power of Wind or maybe control over all weather. There always seems to be a strong gust of wind or weather event whenever he is around. Pretty "lucky" for Luffy when Buggy was hit by a lightning bolt during the execution, right? And of course that path in the flames from the burning Grey Terminal seemed like wind.
And yes, if One Piece was condensed into a more generally respected medium, it would be widely considered a masterpiece. Instead, us manga/anime nerds will just have to enjoy a modern day masterpiece in small chunks every week while most people miss out.

I am 100% sure Dragon DF power is the Wind Wind Fruit and he is Logia.
How can it be unlikely? When Oda himself confirmed that Sabo is dead.

I'd bet on Dragon having a Storm Devil Fruit. Just wind seems kinda lame, while having complete control over Storms would make him one of the most dangerous people in a seafaring world.

I was hella confused that some of you guys abbr. Doflamingo with DD for a moment but then I realized that you refer to donquixote doflamingo haha, maybe we should just say Joker from now on.
Also so happy that this Thread finally has some discussion going on and so many new post whenever I wake up while Naruto had 0! :D Even twilight is a better lovestory than naruto atm.
So many people are seemingly pretty sure about DD powers, i.e. strings etc. But I do not recall us ever having his powers explained ? So why do people seem so sure about his skill set?
