I get that Oda is trying to keep on ending with a cliffhanger, but with the headliners transforming the pacing is all on the action, so I'd much prefer to get the ace flashback as an aftertouch at the end of the old arc or setup for a new arc and not in the midst of what is supposed to be the arc finale. | ||

I wound up googling it and apparently it was a very small spider, I feel very weird about this choice of devil fruit given shes utterly gargantuan, also jesus christ relooking at the image with what you've said only makes it more horrifying, are the other women the weird Jorogumo fire spider control things and why is there a giant smiling... smile happening on her abdomen, now it reads to me like some weird SMILE fruit, y'know what the more I look at this the more horrified I become, 10/10 well spidered Oda, well spidered. | ||

I know this has been debated before, didn't Oda say in some instance that Enel is not very strong? I'm curious to know what the reasons are for this. On paper, Robin's fruit should also be quite invincible against all but Logias. | ||

But in the New World, basically everybody has haki (and there's more widespread access to seastone). Everybody could theoretically hit him (and haki is also able to defend against the effects of DFs to a certain extent) so just having the logia isn't that special anymore (neither is having observation haki). Enel would actually have to work hard on himself to be someone in the New World. Also his lightning attacks don't seem undodgeable (apparently neither are Kizaru's lasers) so it's not like he could safely snipe people. | ||

Armament Haki is the big thing that would allow many people to at least fight him, and Observation Haki would put many people on similar levels in terms of foresight. Theres also a lot of other devil fruit combinations that could be interesting. Luffy was strong against Enel because Rubber doesn't conduct electricity, but Rubber is far from the only material that does so. Sand doesn't conduct electricity, for instance, let alone more "immaterial" things Fire, Smoke, or even Light. One of the old troll arguments about Enel Supremacy involved him flying into orbit with his space ship and blasting away at people with orbital bombardment. But now we have flying Mountains, so Enel needs to be careful! | ||

It's a bit like the Crocodile problem. This character is supposed to be strong, yet gets defeated early on by Luffy before Luffy would had learnt the powers that should had enabled him to defeat them. Implying that Luffy was using armament haki all along from the start, but is suprised when he gets taught about haki. | ||
