There's certainly some foreshadowing, or at least I think so, w/ Kanjuro drawing those headless soldiers, Orochi's head flying depicted w/ such graphic intensity. But doesn't Kaido reiterate just when Luffy & Yamato crash that the execution is about to happen?
And then again there's the part in this ch. where Yamato talks in very straight factly manner how we was kept as prisoner ever since she was 8 (which makes her ?? I can't do the math), Wano renamed as New onigashima, these all made me think it's revisionism where there is no need but the opposite to ground your legality w/ marrying to the old world's nobility.
It would be such an interesting twist after so many of these plots revolve around legacies and historianism.
By the way in the Momotaro folk tale Momotaro is joined by monkey, dog, pheasant. Monkey is Luffy, the pheasant Marco I guess, who'd be the talking dog?

Garp?

Who's that masked samurai w/ the bloody sword crying during Kaido's speech?
E: It's Kikunojo

While dubious by this point of any new strawhats, Yamato is pretty much exactly what I have been wanting in a new crew member. Strong, front line brawler female.

Yamato should be 28 if they were 8 when they got to see Oden get boiled. Also the Alliance against Kaido has a talking dog in it but I'm not sure how important he'll be for the plot.

I know Inuarashi is talking dog but as you said too, I'm dubious how important he would be (although he had strong presence in this ch's beginning). Luffy is not monkey, and Marco not pheasant so I was thinking more metaphorically who could be that character in OP-terms. Not clear to me either.
Thanks for the age. She's older than I would have thought by her appearance. And also, was it due to some retconning that I don't remember we saw Ace in any panel during Oden's flashback? Or was I just reading not thoroughly enough?

Ace wasn't part of the Whitebeard crew back then. He went to Wano and met Yamato at some other time prior to joining Whitebeard.

Aren't the OG admirals Red Dog, Yellow Monkey, and Blue Pheasant though, wouldn't that make a second DogMonkeyPheasant trio a little weird

Ah, good point, very true. Ace is older but not that older to Luffy, right? Reassuring that I didn't miss anything and this is just some unknown at this point in time

If Oden and Ace did meet, it would have to have been in the years following the end of the Roger Pirates

So Fuckin Hype

I don't think any of the Scabbards' hits will actually penetrate Kaido's flesh. Kaido will probably get knocked down into the pool of water below and rise up after a few seconds, doing a typical death fakeout.

I usually just Google Read [manga name] and there's always a read[manga name].com with every really well updated.
It sounds like a joke but I'm dead serious, my GoogleFu is trash tier for anything useful but finding updated manga chapters and full series? Read [manga name]
