Also the chest is pretty modest for One Piece standards so it would have been hidden well enough under all that clothing.

I looked at the horns of Kaido, Black Maria, and Yamato. Kaido's horns are portrayed as thick, white, and with very wide curves in the manga. Black Maria's are mostly black except at the very base, with only slight curves and otherwise fairly vertical and skinny. Yamato's horns were drawn with a white bottom half and a black top half, with the curvature and thickness seemingly a middle ground between Kaido's and Black Maria's. Could be coincidence or how they were drawn in the panels I found (and I didn't check others for consistency), but it seems like a possibility. + Show Spoiler +

I don't think this is the case since Momonosuke doesn't have horns when in his dragon form. For comparison: This is Kaido: + Show Spoiler + And this is Momonosuke: + Show Spoiler + Notice how they both have antlers but only Kaido has horns? This leads me to believe that the horns must come from Kaido himself and not the fruit he ate. Also, I'm pretty sure that the horns are not random and are a feature of Kaido's species. There's just way too many horned people on Onigashima for it to be a coincidence. There's also a gigantic horned skull in which they all live. I'm pretty sure that they're either descendants of Oars or some mixed race of Oni/Human. Maybe the numbers are pureblooded Oni while Kaido and Maria are some mix. It would explain the size differential.

Not that I wouldn't prefer Kaido to be some neat species, it's just also possible that his big weird head horns are from his fruit. I doubt Kaido is related to a giant though, and the fact that Oars had horns and other Giants don't say that maybe horns aren't necessarily a species specific trait, could be you just... Get em as a human sometimes? It's weird but it's also One Piece, lol.

I mean, Momo's dragon form also doesn't have any fire, but Kaidos does, I'm not sure how strictly similar we can really say they are. Oni is just my shorthand for a yet unconfirmed species of horned giants (to which I believe the Numbers belong). I think there's a lot of evidence that points to Kaido not being human. He's massive in size and he's got the same horns as Hatcha who is one of the numbers and is clearly a giant of some sort. Also, Wano is based off of a Japanese folk tale of "Momotaro and the Island of Ogres". Momotaro = momonosuke and the Island of Ogres was literally called Onigashima. Oni is the Japanese word for demon / ogre, hinting that the people who live on Onigashima are probably not human.

Im just saying its hard to peg One Piece human-species unless theyre outlandishly identifiable even by One Piece standards a la the Long Arm Tribe. I mean, Kaido is smaller than Big Mom, and Big Mom is a human, so size isnt a strict dictator of gianthood (at least not at Big Mom's size.) Its certainly perfectly possible Kaido and a lot of his men are a human-species, but maybe their horns are just worn like a headband or something, like what Kinemon makes for Kidd and Luffy.
