And yes, by the way, sugar (rather, glucose) and its aftereffects are basically the number 1 killer in 1st world countries. An excess of glucose leads to obesity, cancer, heart disease, and a whole bunch of other problems. Alcohol will destroy your liver and may make you fatter, but it kills you a lot slower than just plain overeating. We don't even know if that was the cause of Whitebeard's health problems either since he clearly wasn't fat. Maybe it was liver failure? Might of had some unrelated problems like failing lungs - hence the oxygen mask. Either way, it makes no sense for Whitebeard to have worse health than Big Mom - you simply can't argue against this.
