Wouldn't make much sense for them to struggle before they meet up with one of the kings of the new world (Bigmam probally, since she is the caretaker of fishman isle) and THEN they unleash hell, meet up with Shanks etc..

Yes. This arc isn't to showcase how strong the noob enemies are. It's to show that the strawhats can laughably walk all over these guys who other dudes think to be strong. It's proving they're new world material. And the story arc was pretty entertaining and moving imo
I wouldn't say that the arc is absolutely terrible but it is lacking focus and it feels pretty sporadic. Luffy's new attack on the last page appears to have blown a hole through Hody's chest cavity lol.
Ye, i kind of agree this arc is a bit boring, but it was to be expected and is probably needed to calm down after the 3 boom arcs before (shabondy, impel-down, marineford).

I would love to see your version of a good plot lol. Oda is tying in things dating back to nami's arc, not to mention giving us a broader picture of what the world of One Piece is like as opposed to just the perspective of the straw-hats.

It's more of a change in pace rather than showcasing how awesome everyone has become (though it is doing that). Otherwise it would turn into Naruto, going from war to war to war non-stop, which is why Naruto is boring as hell right now, even with it's new twists.

One piece is #1 manga at milking profits. Sure this arc was needed, but it just seems really terrible and doesn't add much to the story of finding "One piece" or strengthening the power levels of the main characters. ^_^

I disagree with this. I don't think it's terrible, and it'll definitely strengthen the power levels of the characters as we continue to see them show off their new moves. ^_^

Bleach sucks so bad right now, or well it has for so long. They really want to milk that cow out of the grave.
Did anyone else absolutely love the last anime chapter ? I'm normally very disappointed when good manga chapters get put into anime form but this one was a rare exception.
Nothing like Pain vs Naruto in the Naruto anime if anyone remembers that travesty.
