The return of Bon Clay! He secretly master new kama kempo and beat DD ages ago, has been sitting ruling in his place and this is just all a big, elaborare test to see if Luffy got strong enough for Yonkou's!
Explains why Zoro and everyone didn't go after him and just pressed against the cage, also why so many strong guys couldn't do anything against the cage(They are all in on it and not trying!).
Man Tra-guy is going to be pissed when he finds out revenge has already been taking out on Dofla and this is all just a big test for Luffy!

thats why Burgess ignored him because he knew Blackbeard would let him escape the cage

Oda is a genius! Thats like a M. Night Shyamalan level twist right there!

While it was absolutely obvious that luffy would beat dofla its strikes such a chord with me that the so fucking clearly weaker main character has beaten the obviously stronger character just to allow for the story to continue.
DD is quite clearly, at least, a fair deal stronger than luffy at this present moment and i feel this has been a very poor writing from oda for this battle.I truly see this manga turning to shit which upsets me quite a bit tbh. Unless DD gets up next chapter and we have another 10-20 chapters involving DDs complete take down from another party(burgress/kaido/an agent) its gonna be some serious shit.
luffy clearly isnt in a league with DD shown after how much shit DD took from law before luffy even attempted to touch DD and then luffy needed 10 mins break while DD stood up straight away only to be KO'd??
It's bad boys. it's bad

DD was in a really bad shape, Law fucked him up quite badly, so it is reasonable that he looses to Luffy.
DD is just too much of a badass. Even being totally fucked up inside he tries to walk like it's nothing.

I agree but then again.. luffy wasnt in league with crocodile and still beat him too.

It's bad boys. it's bad would have been so much better if all that pointless downtime had just been cut out completely, and the first time he uses poundman he ends it with his king kong gun

Yes , when Doffy said , are you sure u recover? you cannot even stand properly . . . then Luffy reply SO ARE YOU!
The thing is , Doffy eat so many shit , from starting Red Hawk , to some Law bullet knife, then to Law inner organ destroy radio knife, then to Full powered Countershock. Then to Gear 4 King Kong Punch .
Not to mention sustaining the bug IMBAL open hack source birdcage . . . ~~~!~!~~
Luffy just use Gear 4 and barely even standing . . . .
And to see Zoro Perfect score against Pica . . .

yeah im disappointed with luffys power level. he should have beaten dofla the first time. if the break was really required, then luffy should have outright destroyed him the 2nd time so convincingly it would make dofla look like fodder. but what actually happened was oda saying dofla is better but luffy is the main character so luffy wins. its even worse because as xiaojoyce just said, zoro completely manhandled pica whereas luffy barely defeated dofla. obviously the opponents arent comparable in skill, but it means we still have something to hope for when we see zoro fight, whereas with luffy we know what his limit is and it turns out to be shit
|
dofla didnt actually take that much of damage though he dodged and blocked most of the attacks so technically luffy only hit him like 2-3 punches? and that last king kong punch finishes him off.
balance wise it is all good to me.
|
Well if everybody thinks a rookie not even with 20 years should easily beat DD, one of the strongest guys in the OP world with 40 years and like ten times the experience of Luffy..
maybe i'm the one who is wrong
|
Did everyone forget that Luffy has been fighting all day while DD didn't do anything till Law and Luffy finally arrived to him and even then he sent in Trebol and Bellamy.

the thing that bothers me is firstly, conquerors haki is supposed to be the end game of hakis, and not everyone can even get it. so luffy gets massive hype for possessing it and later being able to use it, but it really does shit all when it comes to usefulness in fights. conquerors haki could have potentially been applied to haki vs haki fights where conqueror defeats armament, but that never happened, so a potential power spike luffy could have received was lost. then theres the 2 year break where luffy received full time training from rayleigh. rayleigh may not have been 2nd strongest man in the world (if you consider roger to be first and whitebeard to be 2nd), but he was fucking up there. after the training finishes we find luffy barely defeat dofla with massive help from others, despite dofla being nowhere near end game boss level (theoretically. the birdcage shit still doesnt make sense with fujitora inside though) so i guess my biggest concern is i feel somewhere down the line (or maybe were already seeing it in this arc), the natural growth we see in luffy's power is going to be disrupted. i dont see oda giving luffy another 2 year break, but at the same time it doesnt really make sense that luffy manages to achieve admiral/yonkou level strength on his own through just fighting experience. sooner or later i feel we will be questioning oda one day asking how luffy manages to be able to 1v1 an admiral despite barely scraping past dofla not so long ago (its a long time for us but in one piece time it wont even be another 2 years before we see admiral fights)
|
I was under the impression that DD was pretty near admiral level though :s
|
well its hard to tell. aokiji and akainu are supposed to be near same level and doflamingo definitely didnt want to pick fights with aokiji. the admirals are supposed to be of equal strength to yonkous as well, but we know for sure doflamingo doesnt stand a chance vs kaidou. so its pretty safe to say dofla isnt near admiral lvl

didnt we all agree that dofla blocked the attacks with his face?

no luffy missed one i think
