I used to watch the anime for 12 long years until the beyond shitty animation and drawing quality of the current Dressrosa arc forced me to switch into the manga.
I actually used to follow the anime and after watching the new episode I came to this thread and read one year old comments when the manga was in the same point. I'm happy to finally have caught on so I can give a shoutout to all the regulars who have been keeping this thread entertaining! (excluding Enel "debates" and some people who really can't discuss much without turning it to a shit throwing contest)
I just wish the anime department would step it the fuck up because I enjoy it way more than the manga, anyone here feel the same way? The music, fights and voice acting have just been a cornerstone of the whole thing ever since I started watching and now it just aches my heart to compare the present quality with say, Enies Lobby.
Anyway, holy balls what a fucking chapter!? The final fight between Doffy and Luffy has definitely been set now, it's gonna be a crazy couple of weeks going forward. I wonder if Trebol has been wiped out completely or if he's gonna play an active role in the following chapters. The anime was one big reason OP become a success in the Western world as well I am sure. It's really sad how bad it has become I'd actually blame 4Kids and the initial anime for how badly One Piece has done in America compared to the rest of the world.
I could never live with myself watching the subs
The music and the voice actors of One Piece are so good. The ambiance is perfect
it's only recently that toei have come in and started doing shoddy artwork. what the fuck. one piece episodes now come out once every two weeks and they aren't even using the extra time to make something good looking
i also hate that the gory / rude stuff gets censored

Wtf, the anime comes out once every two weeks now? How long has that been going on?

Maybe a month or two.
They're getting quite close to the manga.

Have u seen the last episode for example? the whole episode are moving pictures up and down faking motion on riding the bull. Its a crime what they are doing to the anime.

I just watch the anime to see how they did some voices (most notably pica's of course) or scenes, skipping through more than half of it. Although I started with the anime, after some time the manga had much more impact.
Rewatching earlier episodes (<100) still is a lot of fun, though.

DD seemed pretty upset when he was shooting "Law", so maybe his mind just wasn't in a Haki mood.

Is Sabo going to join the fight? Trebol would be Sabo's opponent, but the way Luffy just shoved him aside makes it seem like it would be one sided. Sabo was insanely strong before he got his DF, possibly stronger than Luffy and now he has a DF that would do well vs a slime DF.
If Luffy gets hit by Donflamingo's puppeteer strings then I could see Sabo having to bail out Luffy and maybe getting hurt in the process for a final final fight between Luffy and DD.

and again if Donflamingo could pupeteer law/luffy he would have by now

We literally have seen Sabo fight. Vs Jesus he had the advantage breaking his armor and stealing the fruit from him. Against Fujitora the fight ended early because Fujitora was just trying to talk and test Sabo, but it says something that he fought evenly with an Admiral. The only fight he finished post time skip was against Bastille who was effortlessly defeated by Sabo. Sabo is also part of the brother trio, he has a lot of willpower and is 2nd in command to the Revolutionary army. Even if we hadn't seen him fight it would be safe to assume he is strong.
Donflamingo has not fought Luffy seriously yet, he has fought Luffy using puppet clones and Bellamy but not using himself much. This with Luffy's long history of being hit by trap type moves so it should not be surprising for him to be controlled.

Can't be. He has tons of smiles. He sells them to Kaidou even.

Fujitora i doubt was too serious, he didnt want to be helping Dofla by fighting Sabo
not nearly enough to determine power level

Yeah, we have definitely seen Sabo fight, IDK what Forik is thinking. BlackMagister said it already, but he fought vs Burgess and Diamante, broke Burgess' guantlet-thing, and made Diamante look foolish. Afterwards, he demolished Vice Admiral Bastille, and then had a fight with Fujitora that ended up as a draw. Hes confirmed Admiral-tier fighting power.
I highly doubt Sabo will actually join in the fight vs Doflamingo. He will probably show up at the end to save Luffy from... IDK, something, but Doflamingo is going to get taken out by the Luffy/Law team, without Sabo's help.

Forikorder, you do know what "literally" means, right? If we have "literally" never seen Sabo fight, then we haven't seen him engage in combat, serious or otherwise, period. I think you mean that we have never seen Sabo seriously fight. Which is like the opposite of what you typed out. Please English better.

i do apologize though, i had assumed that when i said fight that everyone would realise i mean fight for real, i didnt realise that people would assume i meant any sort of playfighting that he had gotten into, 2 small clashs are not enough to say that Sabo is definently admiral tier especially since neither of them were true drawn out 1v1 with both sides pulling out all the stops

2 small clashs are not enough to say that Sabo is definently admiral tier especially since neither of them were true drawn out 1v1 with both sides pulling out all the stops
You're right 2 small clashes aren't enough to definitely put Sabo in any tier but there's a lot of inferring you can do which is what Oda constantly does rather than blatently say X>Y. We can surmise that Sabo=Ace pre timeskip or if anything Sabo>Ace. (Oda making the mistaking of introducing haki after Ace was introduced). Dragon is most likely stronger individually than any of the admirals inferring 2 hand in command is at the very least between vice admiral-admiral level. Without the fire fruit I doubt Sabo would be admiral level for the same reason all of the admirals would be considerably weaker without their fruit powers.(There's very few top tier like whitebeard who would still remain top tier without their fruit powers.). Top tier without fruit powers are just to introduce variety into the equation when it's pretty clear that shanks or mihawk with even a mediocre fruit would put them at the top without peer.
Sabo who was probably somewhere between vice admiral - admiral tier before the fruit has to become exponetially stronger for the same reason luffy with gomu fruit is way way stronger than luffy with just haki. Exactly how much Sabo jumped in tier isn't clear but at the very least it puts him at par with the average admiral.
If you deny Sabo isn't admiral tier you are either saying Sabo pre fruit wasn't even vice admiral tier (dubious considering his position in the rebellion army) or mastery of a useful fruit doesn't improve ones combat ability by a huge factor. You only need to look at current luffy to see what kind of difference luffy would have without fruit powers to see how much Sabo would have gained with his Logia fruit(which is far more useful).
|
I also agree that Sabo is with Fujitora and DD the 3 strongest people in Dressrosa.
He is also way smarter then Luffy and would be way harder to trick sabo or catch him of guard then Luffy.
Sabo is smart, has fighting skill and power, much experience and coaching, powerfull haki, will power and now one of the strongest logia fruits.
